    Hi all,
Just received news that the good folks at Toyota are going to replace my 2011 Taco frame (which I bought used @ 104k miles) through the LIMITED SERVICE CAMPAIGN.
Since it will be disassembled, I want to replace my partly rusted rear bumper, so I'm reaching out to you all whom have replaced yours to get a sense of which aftermarket companies to look at, which to avoid and a "consensus" of whether I should just stick with OEM. Looking to spend in the range of $250 to $450 (if need be). Mind you, it's the original (rusted) bumper that's on it now - Not sure that there's something better out there that will stand the test of time. Also, aside from the usual maintenance, any suggestions on how to prevent it from rusting. The vehicle is in great condition and will gain a lot of road time with this frame replacement. Many thanks in advance for your help!!

I’ve been eyeing this one but haven't pulled the plug. They usually have a discount code, right now, a halloween code, which brings price below $400. Free shipping to most areas. Fits oem tow package.

Hooke bumpers are cheap, look decent, but you will have to paint it as the paint is crap from the reviews Ive read. They are NOT armor in any way shape or form, just mall crawlin bumpers that look cool. If you have a class 3 hitch on yours, look to replace that also as it will be rusty af as well.

    Hey guys,
    thanks for the suggestions!
PilotBoy, yeoooow! Sorry about your accident! Did it really take 7+ months to get it repaired?!? I like the look of the chrome bumper; IMHO, it complements your updates nicely. Why do you want to change it?
BanditCamp, the particular model from Body Armor that you suggested is not available for the 2nd Gen Taco, unfortunately. I like the looks and functionality. Hopefully I can find something comparable.
Chuy, your suggestion is also a good one... only wish they offered one without the "screening" on either end. Is that just cosmetic or is there some purpose to it?
Lastly, MSgt O, I checked out the Hooke Road bumpers; the $499 model looks great but for that price, it's paint job should be better. I'll do more research on this one.
    Thanks again,
    JC

Yeah, unfortunately it did. It sucked. It could have been done in about a month, but there was a holdup on one part from Toyota that was the issue.

As for the chrome, I am not a chrome guy. It looks great on my dad's '01 F-350, I think because it matches the front bumper and grill. I am not as much of a fan of it on my taco. If you look at the before and after pictures of the accident, my grill surround changes color lol. I'd also kinda like something with higher clearance and maybe the potential for a swingout later.
