At 180,000 miles, with something like 1500 miles of dirt this year, feels like all I do these days is chase rattles, squeaks, and clunks. And endless maintenance.

This time it was a wheel bearing. New hub assembly it is.

I've went into 4WD at 80-100 km/h (50-60mph) all the time in the winter. Slower the better.
I drop out of it at 100 km/h (60mph) all the time.
Never had any major clunks or noises or jolts.

I have been leaning towards Dobinsons right now but I always like the BP-51s. I have mixed feelings about fox and kings. Seems like a lot of people are having to rebuild them quite often but I also don't beat on my truck to hard. I have Nitro chargers right now and I can tell they are to weak for what I'm running now.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
I went from BP-51 to Accutuned Kings for my truck weight and springs. Night and day difference. NitroCharger might be OK for a stock-ish truck, but if you have stronger spring rates, you need equally stronger dampening rates. BP-51s seem like the bees knees on paper, but ultimately the tuning ability and extensive R&D done on US manufactured shocks is by far and away better for my heavy application. I think if the BP-51s had a softer coil spring, and were marketed to lower lift, less aggressive, off road occasionally - daily driver type trucks they would be better suited for that.

I have hardly ever seen king and fox need to be rebuilt, other than perhaps the lower end 2" shocks. Icon on the other hand, I hear about blowing seals all the time and needing rebuilds. Most of the stuff I hear with king and fox is revalve, tuning - or people voluntarily deciding to do a rebuild, for upgrades or replacing pitted shafts, etc. And speaking of pitted shafts... everyone should be running a boot on the rear shocks no matter what versions they are... the roost from front tire will pit rear shock shafts in no time flat...

I put that brand in one of our suv's a couple of years ago, through BestBuy, and works great. Considering one for my Tacoma. $209 at BestBuy and free installation with my TotalTech membership. Think it ends up around $250 with the harness adapter. Works off the stock key fob by pressing lock 3 times. Daughter was going to pay a $8 monthly subscription from Toyota for her new RAV4 remote start. I told her to buy this and forget about that subscription. New Toyota vehicles have the features built into every vehicle and make you pay a monthly fee to use it. What a ripoff.
