Aluminum Tailgate Handle???

I've about had it with replacing broken tailgate handles. I work and drive a lot in an area with very talc like road dust. It builds up in my tailgate handle which then requires a lot of wiggle and force to get it to disengage the dogs. Tailgate handles end up lasting me about 4-6 months before the little tab snaps off and I'm back to playing the buy and replace game.
Does anyone make an aluminum replacement for this part? I'm losing my damned mind on this crap!!!
