Has anyone put a Tacoma in a wind tunnel, I'm curious, would like to see if its more or less aerodynamic than a cow or lobster lol

    Hahaha!

Just about every pickup these days. Hell, cars have gotten weirdly chunkier also, but I think they manage the airflow better.

No I have not but yes a cow or lobster has less drag than the Tacoma. However a Tacoma has less drag than a dump truck. Starting to see how this works?

I tried, but there was going to be a large up charge for extra energy costs, something about them having to bring in an extra large motors.

they actually did a lot of aerodynamic testing with the tacoma. that's why it has all the shark fins and front air dam

Let me dispel a bunch of rumors and myths...okay?
    1. If you watch the video above, and paid attention, Toyota reduced drag in some places and added drag in others. Some for wind noise and some for stability.
    2. Think an F1 car is probably the most aerodynamic vehicle? Lol an F1 car has a lot more drag than a Tacoma.
    3. If you could create an absolutely perfect aerodynamic vehicle with no drag you would not be able to steer or control it. Gotta have some drag... in the right places.
    4. Simply put, a vehicle with X amount of area on the front end is how you calculate drag. What vehicle designers do is take a brick shape and mold it to create stability, hence the shape and all the little additions to make the vehicle stable at speed.

    There you go.

    Haha!

TBH, I'm pretty happy with the output. Just wish that they would have kept the 2nd Gen hood line. Basically keep the upper grille, just move it down to eliminate the lower griller opening?

It is a good looking truck overall. Hopefully for the 4th Gen, they follow Nissan's direction versus the other not so good looking mid-sizers.

My wind tunnel fits inside the truck. It tests the integrity of the driver's seat.
