There are plenty of skilled, non-union workers out there that refuse to dump their money in to the pockets of corrupt union officials. I assure you that our electricians are highly skilled and trained and do not have to resort to union bullshit. And they are confident enough in their work that they do not have to scare other workers off of jobs due to their being brainwashed by insecure union "professionals".

It is similar here for all the trades . We do not need to join the union though .

Seen enough to know that most modern unions are bullshit and take advantage of their members for no reason. Some are still good, but most are useless. Seen too many people sitting around a table not doing anything because what needed done wasn't their "job" that day.

I think the idea of unions is good - people dedicated to one specialty, lots of training, etc. But some of the guys (and no offense to anyone :)) go off the deep end when it comes to union mentality. Things like leaving nasty notes on someone's vehicle because its not American/union made...that happened to my dad when he used to drive a '94 Toy PU.

I agree. I worked for my family company for years and we always took care of our employees. I would have been God-damned if some union was gonna come in and tell me how to run my company and that I needed to pay them to ensure that I did what I was already doing. I think that they are a great idea, but have gone awry and Unions terrorizing non-union crews make me sick and just feed my dislike of the union system.

I've been a carpenter for 23 years and run my own company for the past 12 years . I have to be good and efficient in order to keep me and my crew working , as it turns out we are in demand , which is nice because I have no big brother safety net .

I'm employed because I am good at what I do , not because I can't get fired .
