@Kwikvette @Speedytech7 Not old fun PC related, but a friend lent me a Ryzen laptop w Win 10 pro on it to try out, its been the first I've tried to daily Windows since...98. I'm sure anyone who has gone through each generational change since then has been through some pain, but in my time-jump brain, its, surprisingly, not too bad so far.
(Or I don't know enough yet to be annoyed)

Running Windows 11 at the moment, though not sure what I'll run in the new-new build.

Old-new build will get Windows 7.

Laptop runs Windows 10 (on a Ryzen 5600U).

At least Vista is long gone.

That quote makes sense. I haven't tried to do anything intensive or specialized, so I'm currently in the ignorant bliss stage of not needing drivers for simple things or workarounds for things I thought would plug and play, etc. But the usability isn't bad. I remapped some keys because I still think control and alt are weird. Text rendering is kinda ugly coming from Macs, but I could get used to it for everything but design work. I low-key kinda want to theme this thing so it looks like 95 or 98.
I'm glad I never dealt with XP Hows 11?

 

Sounds so cliche, but waking up and making the bed every day is a good way to start things out.
