    1. Texas
    2. New Mexico
    3. Tennessee
    4. Kansas city/st. Louis (they're both kind of derivative of TN, and I rank them together by style, but KC is better)
    5. Carolina
That's my bbq ranking by style. Obviously execution changes everything. I've had some Carolina bbq that I rank above Texas because the Carolina style killed it, while the Texas attempt was mediocre at best. So, execution matters. But by style - that's my hierarchy.

I sit at around 67 usually. On 495 I usually have my doors blown off going that speed.

I've had TN and TX, but not the others. A friend lived in KC for some years and said that by far it was the best. Maybe I'll get there some day.

67 is definitely right lane material around here. It used to be that the Staties didn't pull people over on the Mass Pike unless they were going over 80. "High rollers" was the term they used. I don't know if they've cracked down on that, but from how people are blowing buy me when I have the cruise control set at 75, I doubt it.

RI is just a Demolition Derby with lane markings.

So, kudos to the eBay global shipping program policies.

I attempted yet again to get a 1/18 bugeye WRX (this is time #5). As a quick rehash, time #1 was a 1/43 advertised as a 1/18, time #2 the kid dropped it into a box and it came rekt, time #3 the ad specifically showed photos hiding the missing headlight (I repaired that, it was a wagon), time #4 the guy never shipped it, and this was time #5. It was used but in decent shape from the UK. It was missing the rear wiper but they had it and I was sure I could repair it. It took nearly a month to show up after being mis-sorted by USPS at least once.

I picked up the box and could hear pieces moving when I tilted it. The car showed up with a broken mirror and the rear wheel / brake caliper broke off. F***. I knew the seller had packaged it well, but he used eBay's global shipping program (GSP). Turns out his only responsibility is to get the item to the center and they handle everything else. His packaging was great, but there was a giant slash across the box so clearly someone had been in the box and removed some of the specialty packaging. I reached out to the seller since the car was repairable, but I was hoping he could make a damage claim and we could come to an agreement. He immediately said file a claim and he'd handle it.

I got an email today that the GSP was providing me with a refund. So in the end, I got a free (damaged) car, he kept my money and everyone is happy. I was able to repair the car to 90% (only I'd likely see the damages) and for $0.00, I can live with that.

When my son was in college he got two speeding ticket in one weekend. One going up, one coming back. I think he was heading to the Fort Drum area, but I'm not sure. I think there was a young lady involved, but again I'm not sure.

On the second one he told me that the only words that the trooper said to him were "Nice bumper sticker" as he handed over the ticket. The bumper sticker said "Yankees Suck." On a car with MA plates.

He was doing about 20mph over the speed limit both times so these were not cheap fines. To the best of my knowledge, he never had points assigned. Both tickets were in rural counties and the courts might still have been using quill pens to keep records.

780 highway miles? I could just barely do that without needing to stop for gas at all. 36 gallon tank and 22-23 MPG is awesome. NY gas prices are usually higher than MA, so when we go to Buffalo I can comfortably fill up when I leave and when I get home - that's just under 700 miles round trip.

The NY gas prices lately have been pretty similar, surprisingly. I even found a few that were cheaper than anything I could find in MA. This year has been nuts with fuel costs!

I in theory have 400+ miles. 21 ish gallons, I pull about 22-23 MPG highway, unless it's a lot of up hills. But with the dog, lunch and dinner stops anyway, why play shenanigans and push it. Should be able to hammer down. The ride down was a bit more "free", played with more stops and detours (went to an apple farm...for one...). Plus i was coming from AOAA. This trip is hammer down, get home. Lunch, dinner, done. Fortunately the dog will be tired I think, so she won't be antsy.

I looked at gas prices for my stops. They're decent. One is in VA, the second is in NJ. Then I'll finish up in Seekonk when I get back.

Good to know - we haven't gone in a while, but might for Thanksgiving.

The prices have been weird. I'm in North Berkshire, which historically has always been higher than the Pittsfield area, but for some reason all summer we were 10-20 cents lower. Now it's flipped again and we're 20-30 cents higher.

Years ago a state rep tried to get answers on that once because everything around us is lower. I think it comes down to being away from a main highway so they have to go out of their way to bring fuel here. Greenfield is on 91, Pittsfield isn't awfully far off 90 and is populated enough to need a lot of deliveries, Bennington is on 7 which is a major road through Vermont. We're almost an hour from any interstate.

I've been buying most of my gas at the BJ's in Stoughton. i filled up yesterday at $3.31/gallon. I drove by today and the price was up to $3.39/gallon. Eight cents over night.

I did my annual FF today. I don’t get how any of you guys can stand doing it more than once a year, even for money.

I’m shocked how good underneath my truck looks after six MA winters. The only spots I have anything is the leading edge of the LCAs and a few small spots under the skid which I’m trying to spray more into now. My base frame is still black.

I used about half a gallon on the truck today. Got my snows on and pulled my light bar to throw the tonneau on. I wrecked a few bolts in the process, but they all came out and replacements are suuuper cheap. It’s early, but I have time now to do it. I’m gonna prep the Vette tomorrow for winter since I feel like even though it’s still somewhat warm, it’s going to get cold fast.

You're insane. I mean...the profit potential is HUGE, but you're a better man than me. I'm walking into my garage and I get the wave of FF smell and I'm like...that's it, I'm moving to the Southwest where I don't have to think about this ever again.
