It's actually empty...you are seeing the terminal retaining latch. No sliding roof on that Taco.

I’ll take a look at it tomorrow, I ran out of natural light and it’s hard doing this in my carport with both hands tied up trying to hold a flashlight and my phone to take a picture. But I have since left all the cables to the puddle pods in tact with the exception of that t harness that goes into the A-pillar.

I’ve put back my normal harness back in and the fuse does not blow out any more, I went through 3 x 7.5amp fuses trying to troubleshoot this evening. I’ll try again tomorrow, thank you both for helping me troubleshoot, caribe & daveessa. Might be a 2020 issues, seems like a fellow taco member ParamedicMark has a similar yet different issues when blowing the same fuse. Post #6769

We may conclude then that the added harness has an issue.

I’d contact MESO using the contact form at this point. You’ve done an adequate amount of isolating the problem. Puddle kit should just work. Maybe a problem with that one harness. It’s not going to crush his profit margins to send a new one.

I went ahead and did that, maybe he has another solution to this. Gonna wait and see, thanks again y’all. Really puts things into perspective, I need a beginners class to this whole electrical system, as it is pretty savvy.

Pin 13 on the oem harness looks in tact
Same as the one that Meso Supplies on his T-harness.
Meso got back to me this afternoon and had me go over any potential kinks/shorts on any of harnesses so i just took apart the driver and passenger side door panels, a pillar, passenger and driver kick panels, to check for possible kinks/shorts on either of the harnesses and couldn’t find a single one. Something’s gotta give lol

Some have nipped the insulation at the door boot area.

Did you test with only the T harness and no puddle anything?
One other thing you can do if you stock up on sacrificial fuses is, start with just the T and the door open or whatever causes the fuse to blow, then connect piece by piece until it blows. That tells you what piece has the problem. if it blows with just the T, that says it's in the T somewhere, yeah?

I went to oreilys today to stock up on extra fuses but they had a different brand other than bussman, might need to try AutoZone.
    more.

I spoke with meso support team today and cross checked that none of my harnesses at either ends of the connects were crimped/shorted/pinched and everything checks out. He has since shipped a new T Harness that will get here Saturday by end of day. Hopefully that’s the case when I go to install it. I’ll be sure to do as you suggest then, if not Monday when I have the day off.

To further your point, when I was blowing the fuse yesterday, it wasn’t until I went to turn the truck on that the fuse would blow.

When the door was open, and the ignition was off, the ECU-IG NO2 fuse would remain intact. And the lights on the puddle pods would turn off and on command with the switch. It wasn’t until I started the truck (ignition on) that the fuse would blow and cause the error messages to come on. This is when everything was wired up. I might try to wire everything up except the Meso puddle pod ON/OFF/AUTO switch, I haven’t done that mainly because I wanted to retain the ability to control the function of the lights as a test.

ECU_IG = juiced at Ignition via relay on pcb board.

I get this much, but in terms of why it’s blowing at the start of ignition is what is mind boggling:confused:

Ignition is one that is tapped in the T. If it shorts to to ground in some spot that explains the behavior. Most likely in that T since it’s tight. Wouldn’t take much.

I'd wait for the test without the MESO switch. Connect the puddles without it.

The T grabs ignition, parking lights, +12v and dome PWM- so ignition shorting to dome via a strand of copper or shard of tin would explain things. It’s super tight in there.

That's because the ON/OFF part of the puddle circuit only uses the DOME fuse and the ILE (negative dimming feature). The fuse that does it's job is meant for the MESO V5's. Which tells me that the cable going from switch to the door to the puddles may be compromised.

That makes sense, back in July I could not roll my windows up, lock/unlock them until I replaced that 7.5 amp fuse with everything and the a pillar harness still connected, while the truck was on.
Once the a pillar harness was off, and the fuse replaced I regained functionality of the windows/unlock/lock function of my truck.

Alright fellas, Mesos support team helped me get a new T Harness and I just finished putting in right now and the same fuse blew out. Only thing different I did this time was simply replace the old t harness that goes in the a pillar with the brand new supplied one. So I can safely rule out that right? There’s a problem underneath the horizon.

Now that I’m looking at the connections in my a pillar, or near it rather, is the supplied Y harness supposed to have crossed wires like this? Refer to the first picture.

I don’t believe they are supposed to be crossed. Take a quick scan with the search tab (limiting it to this thread) to double check.

Post 5523, another member had this issue were he had wires crossed on his y splitter, it didn’t get resolved until he got a new y splitter from Meso. Hopefully this is the case for me as well.
