Gave i9 a quick call and man they're great. Gentleman who helped me out recognized they've been seeing a few of these reports and will be shipping me a revised axle and drive-side bearing no questions asked.

 

Yeah dude and also mixing genres was a big goal too. Really just wanted to showcase the local rider skill diversity and interests

The shredder in this video is Seth Kimbrough - he was in the BMX X Games many years ago. Funny enough he was also a character in Hoffman's BMX video game lol

 

Seems like there's a post every other day between the Utah and Colorado MTB groups on FB I'm in about hitch racks sliding out of the receiver on the highway, or otherwise losing bikes.

I get people forget to cinch down the retaining arms, but how that many people lose whole hitch rack systems that often is baffling to me.

 

Recommendations on a bearing press? Need something to work on pivot bearings, headset bearings, BB bearings, and i9 hub bearings. I realize I need different adapters for each specific bearing.

The hub I've heard the most issues with is the 54t DT swiss. I have a bunch of friends who have blown one of those up but have had no issues with I9, Onyx, Bontrager, even the Hunt hub was bombproof for me over a few years.

I'm on the 1/1s now and I don't really notice a practical difference in 90 POE vs the 120 POE of my Hunts. I can feel the difference but it hasn't made a difference in my actual trail riding.

I haven't seen an axle break on the i9's but i've definitely heard of it. I've also seen the pawls completely busted before as well. I9's are good folks, I wouldnt' hesitate to contact them (obviously be professional and nice) and i'm sure they'll take care of you. I have the hydra and love it on mys hort travel. i also have a dt swiss 240s on my long travel, also a great hub. Although, if you ask a few people, the new exp with the single spring is a flaw in design but...I'm not convinced.

 

Awesome video! Hit those trails and breweries on Friday, UT game on Saturday, and throw in some hiking near Gatlinburg on Sunday. Boom, perfect weekend!

 

I remember reading some comments about this in the past. IIRC there was some kind of beef between the PB and Evil guys. Don't recall if any real details were laid out though. It's unfortunate as someone who likes Evil and the review series the PB crew do.

I used an Invisiframe kit, but probably the exact same experience. It certainly takes time and patience.

 

Ride Wrap is good stuff but I have zero patience for it. I've put it on a few bikes for customers but haven't done my own. I'll deal with scratches instead. Ha.

 

I don’t know any other hitch rack systems except for OneUp - do they not have slots to place a lock to at least keep it from coming out? Perhaps that’s just me growing up around boat trailers and always having a hitch lock and chains…..

That looks great! It’s not easy, especially on the smaller areas with curves. I’ve added 3M to my MTB in specific areas and it definitely helps but it is a PITA!

 

There are a lot of curves on that bike haha. It's definitely a pain but definitely some nice peace of mind.

 

My Thule is just the anti wobble and a small "pin" that is more like a hook that sits into the hole where the real pin would go. It doesn't go all the way through though.
