They don't seem to care here, in general, but I heard of folks getting a ticket from time to time. I was in court for a speeding fine and a lady got herself off of a front plate ticket.

I wouldn't worry about not having it, but they do get odd burrs up their butts around here at times.

I run the factory one and see no real reason not to. I'm also the type to "never invite the man into my life" so I just run the plate. One less "probable cause" to give them. I got shit to do - not sit on the side of the road playing "do you know why I pulled you over" games.

Not going to move from my home just because the cops like to harass people. If people don't leave their homes and stay and fight when a foreign army invades them, best believe I refuse to move just because some pricks decide they want to make a power play on innocent people to make themselves feel better. Doing so would be giving them exactly what they want.

What they want is repeat offenders.

Can't make money off of you, if you don't live there, or drive through that area.

Exactly. I’ve lived in two states that required a front plate. More than a few cars - some of which were obviously illegal.

I’ve gotten one ticket over the last 20 years or so. It was a fix it ticket as well. Rigged the plate one, got the ticket removed, went home and removed the plate.

Unless it’s some major offense if you get caught or you are transporting drugs and want to avoid the police, just leave it off.

Meh, I think what they want is to pull you over for some bullshit, and see if they see any obvious guns just sitting there in plain sight, or the smell of marijuana wreaking in your car, or alcohol, or if you or any of your passengers have warrants. I wouldn't be surprised to find out though that they pull over people with a specific look more so than others if you catch my drift. And overtime they want those specific looking people to either leave on their own free will or through other methods like the ones I've listed above.

    Brand new.
I live in Massachusetts, we are required to have a front plate as well so don't be to sad, it sucks, to ruin such a nice front end with an ugly ass plate.

I might be able to modify the brackets I build to be able to hold two plates or make you a one off bracket that could run two plates. If you are interested we can toss a few ideas around and see if there might be something that works. Let me know if that interests you?

Same, the Virginia State Police were known for enforcing those with an iron fist and Lord help you if you let your inspection sticker expire... Since 2020 they made all of those things secondary offenses. They can't even stop somebody for driving at night without their lights on; they have to be speeding or doing something else. They took it too far imo, shouldn't have given these drivers an inch. And I say this with 20% tint and no front plate.

I wasn't about to drill holes in my front bumper so I made my own out of material I had laying around. May not be the prettiest, but what front license plate is?

    Just gotta rant.

I was following a sheriff this morning. He didn't seem in any particular hurry and was actually driving the speed limit. Azzhole coming the other direction had their high beams on. The sheriff did nothing. I flashed and held my high beams. Other driver did nothing, nor did the sheriff. :censored: :censored: :censored:

Moving to VA 6 years ago, this was a known fact that the state had not only silly vehicle equipment laws, but moving violations. Anything over 80 is immediate wreckless driving? So 11 over in a 70 is technically wreckless? As much as I love this state, its scenery and roads, the current general assembly only did that one thing right so people can go on their way with window tint, or not front tag. Now if you have super dark tint plus no tag - thats (2) infractions which I believe you can get stopped for - so choose your mods wisely.

I was being mildly facetious when I suggested they'd gone too far... You're right. It's 85 now but imagine getting charged with misdemeanor reckless for driving 85... A speed limit in many states and a speed even a Tacoma can safely go.
I DO think they should be able to stop people for no headlights at night. While they're at it, stop people who smoke everyone by never dimming their high beams. I see one pretty much every time I leave the house.

I'll join your rant. A huge proportion of the drivers here are absolute menaces with the high beams. I see one every time I leave the house. My favorite move is "one of my low beams burned out so I'm gonna run the brights, in town with lots of people around." Others just won't dim them.

It's a mentality thing, I'll give you another example: You and I are used to rain. I keep RainX on all my vehicles and use the wipers as little as possible. Run through every intermittent stage, and if I have to click them to Low, then it's a monsoon. I see the other drivers around me click theirs onto High for the mildest drizzle. They keep em going at every red light, even after it's stopped they're like flapping away. Imagine the noise. Imagine the mentality towards driving in inclement weather to blast them like that. I'd wonder if the cops here would pull people over for brights but then I remember, they're all Virginia drivers too:rofl:

All obnoxious lighting issues are happening here also. multiple poorly aimed fogs, HID / LED drop-ins in reflector housings, high beams 24/7, only DRLs at night, light bars on, you name it.

Yeah. Peeps are skeered of rain here also. I'm the same as you with the RainX. We use the booster in the washer bottle. Saves a lot of work.

With the LED headlight package and 4" lift, I'm waiting for the day I cross paths with a high beamer. One pull of that light stalk should get their attention.

I WILL give Virginia one thing, if you put LED or HID bulbs in reflector housing, no inspection sticker for you. I definitely see that a lot more when I'm home visiting.
