    One time, in like October or November of 2017 if I remember correctly, I put 170 miles on my truck in one day! And it wasn't by choice, either! I know it was no earlier than October because it involved picking up the liquor for Thanksgiving Eve.

    One of the bartenders had a 1996 Ford Ranger that was not very reliable, and in addition to that the tailgate did not open. Pennsylvania held an absolute monopoly on liquor sales from the day prohibition was repealed in 1933 until not even a decade ago, and the stupid state stores that everybody hates still rule the roost even though grocery stores have found loopholes that allow them to sell wine. So, this PLCB warehouse cut Puck a deal that couldn't be beat, but it was an hour away in Bethlehem. Since Edna's shitbox Ford Ranger wasn't up to the task, my boss Sam recruited me to make the liquor run. Sam has a Honda Element that had nowhere near enough space to hold that much booze, but she and Edna had to go up there anyway, so the plan was for them to hand the liquor warehouse the check and I would pick up the hooch and drive back to Doylestown; I was less than 10 minutes from my destination when I got a call from Sam. She told me that she had left the blank check with which to pay the warehouse back at Puck!

    :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

    I wanted to scream! My initial response was a very irate "Jesus Christ!" My boss understood my frustration, didn't get mad at for reacting the way that I did, and took 100% responsibility; I of course had to turn around and drive all the way back to Puck, pick up the check, drive to the warehouse, pick up the booze, and then drive all the way back to Puck again. It was after that little episode that I ended up having a very heated discussion with Sam about wear and tear on my truck, and how Sam ultimately relented and reimbursed me for gas if I had to go on Puck-related errands that far outside of town.

    After Puck shut down, I still maintained a close friendship with Sam and the guy who ended up becoming her husband. They bought a house less than nine months after Puck closed. To this day, Sam drives a 2005 Honda Element and her husband Matt drives a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. They decided to hold onto their respective vehicles much longer than expected because they would rather spend money on the house, which I fully agree with. Neither vehicle is well suited to hauling furniture or building materials, so guess who got recruited?

    I forget whether I got paid in cash, beer, or a meal fit for a king, but I was reimbursed quite well; I do except beer in lieu of cash in certain situations...

    :cheers:

    Anyway, so Sam and Matt moved out of their small rental house and into the place they bought on Halloween night in 2019; I drove up to their old place after trick-or-treating hours were over to see if they needed any help. There was a nasty storm about to come in, so time was of the essence. Not everything fit in the UHAUL, and they didn't want to make two trips, so we crammed what was left into the bed of the Tacoma.

    After Thanksgiving but before the COVID pandemic started, they started replacing flooring. Matt ordered this pallet of engineered hardwood, which was both incredibly heavy and didn't fit in either the Element or the Jeep, so I was called out to the flooring place with the Tacoma. Once again, I was reimbursed.

    I really like this one, as it has pretty much everything I'd want in a house; I would likely rework the kitchen a bit to free up some counter space, and I would also add a third garage space. I normally prefer the cooktop/wall oven setup, which this house has, but the kitchen is rather small; I would put a range where the fridge is, relocate the fridge to where the wall oven is located, and turn the current location of the cooktop into open counter space...

    That kitchen is small, the counters take up 4’.
    I’d sacrifice some of that “Gathering room” space.
    It has a living room too, so you should have plenty of room.

    I only took pictures of Michelle with the Nikon. While I'm uploading those, here are some pictures Michelle took of me (with my phone) getting medieval on a fairly late model Ford Transit with Lucille...

    That is a 1984 Pontiac Fiero with no title and lots of issues, but plenty of hard-to-find parts. The Fiero community is quite strongman, so Michelle is keeping this out of the main yard because she knows she can sell every last bit of it for a profit...

    Very oddly-optioned car too, or more it was the lack of options. This car had the expensive factory AM/FM cassette with equalizer, and speakers built into the headrests, but it had crank windows, no intermittent wipers, and not even A/C!
