Got stuck on a nearly flat gravel boat ramp today... that was embarrassing... had to put it in 4 wheel and I didnt even have a boat trailer, I had 2 kayaks in the bed. I really really need new tires soon, I dont think im going to last the first snowfall with the ones I have now. I have 33k on stock trd offroad tires.

VLEDs overhead console harness for the footwell lights arrived a day early, so I took 15 minutes to knock that out. The install is very straightforward--the scariest part is getting the console off of the roof. Went to dinner and ran some errands after the install. About halfway through the night, thought the lights were a little too bright, so I turned them down to about 10%.

Also picked up my Talons Garage catalytic converter shield from powdercoat today. I asked that they shoot the metal with a high-temp powdercoat because the cats get up to about 400 degrees after driving around for a while. The product they used withstands temperatures up to 1200 degrees, so I have a 3x safety factor of sorts. I'll take some time tomorrow to install it.

Finally, I was scrolling my e-mails at dinner and I came across an advertisement from Diode Dynamics regarding their new hitch-mounted light. After reading through some of the info, I was sold. The C1R version offers a red fourth brake light (with an optional three-flash strobe on brake), a red running light, and a white reverse light. I've always enjoyed the F1-style light that some people put into the rear bumper of their WRX and the added three-flash strobe when braking makes me super excited. I'll be glad to have additional light mounted low to fill out the profile of the truck on dark nights and foggy mornings.

Stock TRD Off Road tires are just big all season passenger car tires. I suggest getting real winter rated tires on steel rims. I also add a 50lb concrete slab in the box for a bit off added weight on the rear axle for the winter months.

Im ordering some cooper discoverer maxx in 255/85/16 before the snow falls. I was thinking of getting actual snow tires too since I am up and down boat ramps and on frozen lakes all winter.

You will hate the throttle lag. USE the ECT Power button until you can get a tune on it.

I joined the Bro grill club. I bought a used OEM grill w/garnish from FBMP. It was as old as my truck so I’m good with it. Just had to clean it up a bit.
I mounted the front cam in the center, right above the sensor. I had to trim part of the plastic bracket in the back to make some room for the nut. The test drive went well. No error codes.

I’ll skip the tune. The only thing left that’s warranted is the motor an tranny. Oh and fuel system. So my ECT is my tune. Lol.
