My brother and I are hoping to go see Bethel Ridge Friday. Hoping the snow holds out just a few more days!

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Thats for damn sure. No fun in working in heavy mud below the snowline.

This pic. Does not look too bad, but its the type of heavy mud that gets into every crack.

I destroyed my entire front brakes in that one day. The mud buggered the calipers and pads and ate into the rotors. It took me 5 trips to the the power wash station to get the mud off the undercarriage.

New rotors, pads and calipers the next week.

That was in March, on the FSR road from Westwold up to Pinaus lake. A half dozen logging trucks up and down the mountain all day chewing the frosty road into a mud pit. So the lower 9 miles were 6 inch deep axle grease mud the entire length before I hit the deep snow, and then back down end of day. I talked to the logging truck drivers and they were power washing their rigs twice per day to save their brakes. One guy said “you sure you want to drive this, I would not with my truck.” They were leaving their company pickups near the bottom.

Had a great day up high in the snow, but it was an expensive day. Lesson learned, not doing that road again in early winter or spring.

Yeah, guys will play driving through mudholes, and spray the truck to make it look good. :). Not the same as driving in deep axle grease all day.

That stuff sucks. I don’t envy you working in that crap.

Recent trip with the family to Durango and Silverton. We took the 4Runner instead of the Tacoma. Such a beautiful area with amazing trails. In Durango we did old lemon road. Not sure of all the trails in Silverton. Too many to remember. You Colorado people have some crazy trails, with insane views and death drop offs lol.

Ugh. Another month or so, and my off roading will be over until next March. All the spots I go are high elevation and the off road FSR and trails will be under 3 foot or more of snow.

    A bloody long wait...

Nothing incredible, just a drive up an easy access mountain in BC. Started out as autumn, ended in winter. There wasn't much snow along the warm, wet dirt and gravel trail but off the beaten path we found ourselves 2-3 inches of snow and a significant flow of trails. Some were a bit too icy to try alone at this time of year so we skipped them and found a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains at our final destination, the second highest of numerous comm towers.
