An old guy in line at the grocery store was telling another guy that you can’t trust farts after 50… I will never forget that but of information.

meds are working. she is feeling much better this evening.actually playing and getting back to her normal self

 

Home from the mountains. hiked some looking for sign and white oak acorns. saw @30 deer. nice cool day. hiked 40 minutes to one of my stands on an oak flat just above cliffs to the river bluff. its a natural funnel.

 

BBQ some rib eyes, mashed potatoes and some kinda veggies thing. Washed down with a nice pilsner.

glued and screwed, all I need is a few people with good backs to help lift this pig into the air and set it in the pockets in the posts.

I guesstimated at how many screws that I would need and got 2 boxes ( $80..) and I only used most of 1 box. I like these structural deck screws, they self feed very nicely and gripped very well. I will use them for connecting the rim joist to the ends of the joists when I get to that point, to hell with banging in nails.

I dug out my old 500W halogen work light. I hadn't had it plugged in probably a decade, it came to life. For about an hour.
I honestly expected it to trip the GFI as soon as I plugged it in, so an hour of warm light was a bonus!. 4 fresh AAA's into the headlamp and I could see just fine.

 

My last optometrist was still doing it, as of four years ago. They also were still doing the "We are holding your prescription hostage, and won't give it to you unless you buy frames and lenses, or contacts, directly from us." Which is a violation of State law, but their response was, "So, get a lawyer." My current optometrist was shocked that office did dilation still, and dismayed about the prescription thing. She preferred I buy the frames/lenses from her shop, but didn't really care if I did or not. She writes up both eyeglass and contact prescriptions and hands them to me.

 

I put mine up a few days ago.




I do like the view from up there.

 

Morning 50+

 

My ophthalmologist always dilates my eyes, but I, like some others here, have serious eye issues. Maybe for a routine check they have stopped? It's not that bad, except for the ride home if it is sunny.

Good morning all. Currently 30F. Hair cut and leaf pick up are on tap today.

 

Sadly enjoying camp for last weekend. Have to drain water and close up early this year due to holiday schedule coming up, plus SIL is now in Mass Gen w stage 2b pancreatic cancer, hoping for prayers for her.
