When I remote start the truck I want it to warm up and jump in and take off and not to restart it

Here’s where the aftermarket has come to the plate and knocked it out of the park!!
Not only was it 99% plug an play. But if you also tap into the TPMS feed (from the tcu) it actually allows you to unlock the truck and getting inside with it running. Step on the brake and she shuts off.

That's only for non push to start models. Push to start shutoff.

Aftermarket N2 on mine. Shuts off, at opening door. Don't know of any that doesn't.

    No

No matter what remote start you use, be it Toyota Connect or aftermarket, If you've got push to start the truck will shut off when a door is opened.

Seriously what is so hard about having to push a button when you get in?

The vehicle can detect when the key is inside or not, it should be able to detect when it's nearby. No reason for it to shut off when unlocked or opened tbh. It's just lazy coding on Toyota's side.

Either way, it is what it is. If someone does find a solution, I'll buy it, tho.

I just can’t wrap my head around what the TPMS has to do with unlocking the truck with the key fob while under the restart protocol

Ok here’s mine. The truck was unlocked at first so the first minute or so is like oh no. Lol. But it eventually gets there.

First off, I appreciate the dedication to make your own video. Second, yours has a physical key which is why you can do that. Those with the push to start don’t have that ability unfortunately.
