Installed a set of these this week, insane amounts of weight to balance them. One tire was asking for 6.5 oz on one side

Mine took a lot as well. Took them two tries. Once they got them balanced tho, they’ve been great since then.

I just wanted to say thanks for this report. I’m closing in on pulling the trigger on a set of these in 255/85/16 and your post may be the final thing I needed.

Unrelated to that…Can anyone tell me how much louder these will be on the road compared to my E rated General Grabber ATXs? Both are E rated the grabbers have an extremely aggressive tread, so I’m hoping there won’t be a huge difference but looking for real world experience.

    Thanks in advance.

    I'm glad it was helpful!

I wouldn't be worried about noise if you're coming from an aggressive AT. From what I have read, they are one of the quietest mud tires available. You can definitely hear them, but they're not obnoxious.

I do notice a significant difference between them and my Toyo AT3's (load range C). But, I don't know how the Toyos would compare to your Generals.

Ok awesome, thanks (again) for the info!

I read the same thing about the Geolandar’s being the quietest MT tire…that’s one of the things that put them at the top of my list. I’ve read hundreds of reviews and they’re all stellar and talk about how quiet they ride on the pavement for a mud terrain. They honestly seem to be the best rated MT tire from what I’ve read.

The General’s have a much more aggressive tread than the Toyo open country AT’s in my opinion, so I’m thinking the Geo’s would only be a little louder.

Post some pics when you get them mounted! That’s the exact wheel size I have.

Have had these on for around 7000 ish miles, great tires love the all around look. Tried to get them balanced twice and still has shake to it. Recently brought it to a les Schwab so they could do a road force test and there’s still shake. They told me that the tire is to rounded? And they did what they could. Not really sure what I should do now anyone else have this problem? Could it be the suspension I’m running? bilstein 6112 and 5160.

They’re stock wheels, but they actually came that color. They come on certain versions of the SR5, though I personally don’t know if it’s a particular trim level or how that works. For suspension, I’m on the Eibach 2.0 kit with a Headstrong AAL.

I have a 6112/5100 setup, and run these tires in 295/70/17. It silky smooth on the highway.

I have had a situation where s chain rebalanced my tires and I had a shimmy. Then, had it rebalanced at on off-road shop and it was perfect.

Makes sense. Any idea about what they could mean by the whole tire is being rounded ? That just doesn’t make sense to me lol. Not really sure what to do now since I’ve gotten them balanced 3 times. Probably should have an off-road shop take care of them.

Geo MT 295/70/17 on Relation Race Wheels -25 offset. I love this set up and the stance. The tires have some noise but they are MT and my previous Ridge Grapplers started feathering and got pretty loud so these are actually a little quieter. Haven’t found one better than the other off roading.
