You should probably trade yours in for that Nissan sooner than later. :bananadance:

That's not cool Dan... I hadn't even looked into Demello yet, and now I have more reading to do. Their suspension packages look pretty sweet too. https://www.demello-offroad.com/2005-2015-toyota-tacoma-0-35-suspension-system-stage-4-wtubular-uca

I'll probably do suspension before I do anything else. I mean those stock Bilstein's have just about 40k miles on them. They're probably ready to fall apart by now, right? (I know they're fine, but I need justification for a replacement, of course.) I think my top concerns in order are daily driving comfort/feel, corrosion resistance, off-road performance, easy maintenance. I've been eyeing up the Ironman4x4 Foam Cell Pro kit, but that package from Demello is around the same price and is looking kinda shiny too.

Might as well add Dobinsons to the list, though I'm biased.

There's a 15% off sale during November on suspension... :bananadance:

Not trying to influence anyone. Just doing my part to help others. Just like the reminders I get about a getting a winch. By the way, the wife is ok with it.

Disagree. Mile per mile, the second gens show more wear, at least as far as what we see coming in.

Well..... As a certified tech, I'll go ahead and say that your shocks are showing wear and should replaced sooner rather than later :D

See, that wife factor is what's getting in the way now. If I had approval, I'd be out there today installing. Earlier today I had to explain all the benefits of that Woolwax kit I have in the shopping cart. Long ago we decided it was better for her to be in control of the finances and that was definitely for the best, but now I have to fight for an allowance...

^^^THIS is what I need! However, see above. There will be a lot of work involved to squeeze out a $3500 allowance.

Not to be contradictory but I don't think mile per mile applies as second gens are starting to get up there in age. For example what I was getting at is take 2020 Tacomas. They would be about 3 years old now. I'm thinking that 3-year-old 2nd gens would have had fewer problems per a thousand vehicles than 3-year-old third gens.

Understood. But.... We're also far enough out that a lot of second gen problems have either destroyed those trucks and been forgotten, or have been remedied and forgotten. There is also more internet now than there was/were then.

All in all, the Tacos as a fleet by far have the fewest problems of trucks on the market. Imo.

Oh yeah, definitely. I was just splitting hairs for a thought experiment. Tacomas are most definitely the best midsize choice.
