I remember when if a married couple was having difficulty, staying together for the sake of the children was considered an honorable thing to do. Not anymore. Today it's all about "Me."

I had a friend him and his wife stayed together for 18 years till the youngest child was done college .

No sex he never cheated . He stood by his marriage Vows

Divorce went through He met a Nice Woman Made up for the 18years Bought a house together.

He passed away about a year later.

 

I never played in the street lots of woods and creeks to sneak around in.

Horses to clean up after.

My mom worked there about 400 years ago.

 

Does the Jewel Tea Company still deliver in rural areas? I haven’t lived out in the country for 40 years.

 

Just depends on where we lived, because there were no paved streets when I lived out in the desert, but when I lived in suburbia it was the perfect place to play kickball.

You needed a nice flat intersection with four corners and no traffic. Those corners were your 4 bases.
We played regular kickball at school on the baseball diamond, but at home we played Chinese kickball.

Regular kickball is just like baseball.

Chinese kickball has one pitcher, one kicker, and everybody else runs around the bases with him.

The pitcher must retrieve the ball, and hit somebody with it, to take them out. Anybody taken out, becomes a baseman or a fielder. Eventually everybody moves from one team to the other, and then the game is over.

But since you don’t have actual teams, the winner of the game is the last person tagged out with the ball. Every kid in the neighborhood could play in one game, but you would never have more than one winner.

 

I don`t recall ever seeing any of those.

 

We had one here in our town. I remember it well as they (TG&Y ) were doing a store upgrade and I did some part time work there when I was 16. There was one of the "remodel guys" that was in charge and he was in town for only this. He had this Dark blue 65 or 66 Pontiac Tempest Le mans 2dr HT -not a GTO. he loved this car -- it was new and he had got the biggest engine and a 4 spd. He actually lent it out to me and some of my friends for the evening. This was the hottest thing I had ever driven. Never forgot this evenning , and BTW we got it back to him safe with no problems.
I never will forget his trust in a bunch of us 16YO's -can't say I would be so trusting
