What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I just cruised through your build thread. Killer truck . How do you like the tube bumper over the plate?

 

Thank you kind sir! Well I’m all about simple, strong, high and tight & the plate bumper was incredibly bulky where it didn’t need to be. I am very thankful for the tube bumper Joe built for me. It is one of my most favorite things about the truck! I need to add some tube work to my tucked front end / winch tray also

Today I put my old project car up for sale. A 92 Celica All-trac with tons of hours and to much money into. Its been sitting for about 12 years and I just can't get myself excited about it anymore. Anyone interested DM me.

How difficult was the installation? Did you get the aluminum or SS?

 

It's a plastic emblem with double sided tape.

 

Gave her a wash and started cutting up the new skid to work with the front subframe chop. I have all the metal to get started and will be finishing it next weekend. Also will start making my new trans crossmember to gain some ground clearance and to have the trans mounts poly to go along with the motor mounts. Stock crossmember has seen better days and is pretty flimsy from factory.

Again, Im creeping your build thread lol. How are the retro fits holding up? what projectors did you go with?

 

The new retrofit? They are doing great. Really bashed on the truck for a weekend and the projectors are snugged tight enough to where they don’t noticeably wobble the beam while wheeling and they haven’t aimed down / sagged either. Went with budget minded acme SUPER H1 with the fancy precision bulb holders and a fresh set of 35w morimoto 4300k bulbs. Dollar for dollar can’t beat it honestly.

 

Install was straightforward and easy. Aluminum.

 

Made a large frame winch fit..

 

And fit it did. Fresh resto on an M12 - some assembly required.

 

Nooooo! Those are so cool. Don't give it up

 

It stays on all the time only if you have a trailer connected

 

Pros:
- Very cool vehicle
- Fun to drive

Cons:
- (Most) People have no idea what an All-trac is anymore
- Parts

 

didnt do it to my truck but @Nic S truck.



we tackled a frame job and a DRT cab mount relocation on passenger side. Took us all of sat and till about noon on Sunday to do one side. He’s gonna comeback so we can finish up. Frame was in rough shape. #rustbeltrruck.

 

Took out the secondary air filter today, about to drive to the range and see how she does.
