What's the plans for down the line with the rear? SUA & bypasses?

More than likely 3 or 4 link in a couple years.

I keep toying with the idea of SOA F67s and bypasses, but idk

If you find a deal on some used leafs, could be an affordable way to go. I hear great things about the performance of SUA setups

I'll keep an eye on the marketplaces for cheap parts, but unless I find some steals, nothing is happening anytime soon.

Yep. That's exactly why I'd do SOA with F67s. Likelihood of that happening is very small, but I never know at this point with this build.

It's a 2002 Sequoia rear axle. Uses the Toyota 8.4 diff. It's fairly similar to the Tundra rear axle that is more commonly used for long travel applications.

yeah cool. I have a T100 to use. But think i'll try for one of these for the rear discs.

Lookin good man! I think that rear setup should perform great with the front.

I've got a sequoia axle too, what did you end up doing to get the parking brake hooked up?

It's a great axle for the price. Stout as well. Definitely should withstand some abuse. Rear disc brakes paired with Tundra brakes up front should be a huge step up over stock as well.

We'll see about the rear suspension. I'm hopefully that'll be good enough for the time being so I can save money for the next phase in a few years.

Not yet. Current goal is get the truck running again and driving. Parking brake can come later, but I already have a few ideas in mind.

I guess it's time to update this thread again since I've actually made progress on the truck. Rear suspension is done with all the mock up and it's ready to get burnt together this weekend. Still a few minor details I need to work out, but I'm ready for everything to start coming together for the end result.

Rear limit straps to help protect the shocks.

Brake lines came out okay. Not to happy with the long run on the axle so I might remake that before final assembly. Also need to order some DOT legal brake lines.

Added a proportioning valve for the rear to help fine tune braking. Decided to put it under the hood to help keep it as clean as possible.

And that brings us to yesterday were she's all torn down again and ready to get welded together. I'm ready to see her out of the garage and moving again. I plan on getting the heater core done while I'm getting everything painted and ready for final assembly. Once that's done, it's put the rear back together add fluids, connect the battery, and go... in theory lol

The goal is end of November to be running and driving. I think it's doable, but that's also assuming that nothing causes a delay.

Easily the cleanest spot I have seen so far for the proportioning valve. What makes brake lines non DOT legal? Is this a Cali thing?

Yeah I'm digging his spot, I wish I had thought of mounting it directly to the master cyl. I mounted mine to the master cyl bolt location and had a conversion line go down to the tee instead.

It looks like his brake lines are AN with metric conversion fittings at the end, I don't think that's DOT approved, but it's common, my rear line is AN too and it makes it way easier to replace if required, can make it longer or shorter easily as well.

I believe it has to do with the AN fittings and the lack of a rubberized coating on them, but idk. I'll just order the correct ones.

Correct. I should have gotten a 45° angle at the banjo, but I'll see if that available when I order the new ones.

Out of curiosity, why did you mount the rear bump stops "down" on the frame instead of up? It looks like you're losing out on uptravel with that setup, but I wasn't sure if you were trying to avoid cutting the bedsides more.

The bump stops are set so they will protect the shocks at both full bump and when articulated. I don't mind cutting the fenders at all. I wish I could have gone up more, but that would have meant either going SUA or links which isn't an option right now with trying to get the truck running as soon as possible.

Lots of progress this past weekend. Big thanks to my dad for helping with a ton of welding on all of this while I was stuck at work. We were able to get everything welded up and even got the frame painted as well with the shock hoops in place.
