How far off can the computer be. I was on another thread and mine usually says like average of 8.7-9.5 L per 100 km... but that is like 27-28 mpg and I don't think it is that high.

I have a 2019 TRD Sport 2wd and as others have said, there are many factors that go into it, but if you don't have a lead foot, or a lot of hills in your average driving area, you should be getting some insanely great gas mileage, considering how heavy the vehicle is, and IF you have the 6cyl. I am fairly conservative driving, and once I got past basically the 10,000 mile mark, the dang stupid transmission seems to have settled down some, and although it does seem to "search for gears" when I don't want it to, it is not as bad as when it was new. So, since I live in an island community where the speed limit is pretty much 25mph all around town, I am getting an average of 28mpg around town. When I take it on the road, again, depending on road conditions, but for the most part, I am averaging around 28, and if I am on a flat surface, it tops out at 30mpg. This is from the ECO readout, which has been pretty darn accurate compared to computations when I fill up. I will attach screenshots of both my around town driving and highway to prove what I am saying!trdgasmileagetownandroadcombined.jpg trdgasmileagearoundtown05292020.jpg trdgasmileageeco04192020.jpg

Look at your sticker again. I believe you'll find it says EPA estimated.

If I'm right, its a government number, not a Toyota number.

That may clear up your disappointment.

My '17 stock Limited does the same as yours. Summer gas I can get onwards to 24, winter gas about 21.

But my 17mpg on 33s with a steel bumper gets more thumbs up on Insta than your 30mpg. Your argument is invalid.;)

I would do many many things to achieve anywhere near your MPG. I have 265s, a canopy, and am a longed 4wd, but no matter how I change my driving habits I cannot achieve anything greater than 17.2 mpg combined, or anything better than 280 MTE.

Where you live matters. Highway speeds to someone in Texas or out west will change the mileage compared to someone in the northeast where most highways are not 75-80mph limit. This is of course assuming everyone adheres to the limit :D

This is why I tuck in behind a semi in these states and turn on adaptive cruise... So that I'm not even tempted to pretend that my truck is fast... And I'm always excited to break 18mpg average when drafting a semi

Ha! I did that several months when I was to Austin from Fort Worth. I found a trucker that was taking the same route as me. I pulled up behind him, set the cruise and drafted. I topped off the tank before I left town and when I arrived in Austin, the digital display said I got 26MPG (I think? It may have been a bit more or a bit less). I was amazed.

My truck isn't lifted higher than the factory lift and I still have stock tires on it, the Goodyear Kevlars. But I do have a steel front bumper. Long story short, my tank average for my Austin trip was almost 24MPG.

on a windy day, driving into a head wind i can get as low as 14 mpg at 70 mph.
With a tailwind i can get more than 20.

    Lol

I will say this though, I do watch the mileage meter on the screen and try to adapt my driving to make every bar on there hit 30mpg. City driving is much harder but thankfully I drive 65-70mph on the highway 90% of the time.

Well, I would love to get 24 in my truck. On the highway on even a slight hill, my truck always downshifts into 5 and sometimes 4th gear. That just doesn’t seem right to me.

How old is the truck? MPGs tend to increase when the engine breaks in sufficiently. I guarantee you could see an extra MPG driving 65mph.

It’s not right but that’s the way it’s geared and how Toyota mapped the ECU to do that. A tune will largely fix it but yes, it’s quite annoying when I drive another make of truck, usually an F150, and it drives like a Cadillac going down the highway.

Drive 65mph. Don’t use AC unless you have to and go easy on the throttle and watch your MPG improve.
