Idk it seems like everyone who has a toilet in a build like that doesnt use it. So maybe a toilet but definitely something there for emergencies.

Oh, yeah they're not the best, but if it's -14° or pissing rain, and you wake up after drinking 7 ciders before bed and have that rumbly in your tumbly, that's not fun! It's usually something small and crappy (heh), but at least it gets the job done if need be in a pinch (...heh). I've thought about the "vanlife" thing before, even if not permanent, doing a sprinter style smaller one to go out and explore for a couple weeks at a time. I've looked at some builds, and the amount of people who have ZERO toilet option is surprisingly high.

Plus, needed for camping in some places (cape cod on the beach comes to mind).

That’s dangerous :| also, ambitious if you need to make a deposit. My setup is great for that though, I just open the door and go  depending on where I am, of course.

PS I have a new most hated lights on the highway. This f***er was blinding for about 2 miles back.

Yeah Im thinking just a 5 gallon bucket with a good lid and some kitty litter will be the start. If used alot switch to something less cat like. For me I'm lookin to build a gfc type thing that I can put the kayaks on top of and still open. Not gunna happen for a while but a boy can dream

People really seem to go overboard with LED lights. Just because they can, doesn't mean that they should.

^^ That bucket, yeah! I've seen those. Doesn't count for places that require grey water storage (cape cod camping on the beach) but, in a pinch they work!

It's bad. That drive home through CT at night was brutal. Every oncoming car was straight white lights, no off-white. Sprinkle in the idiots that needed their high beams on for some godforsaken reason, also pair with a good solid few idjits who don't know that DRLs are not headlights, so there are NO rear lights. I was cooked by the time I got home. Granted, it was 14 hours A to B, 12 seat time, so that didn't help, but driving through that light show was brutal.

That's what I ordered and what my friend has. Replacing batteries once a year isn't a big deal. At least to me.

Emergency vehicles are the worst. Every time the light engineers figured out how to cut electrical demand for lights, someone decided that was a good reason to add more lights. LEDs through a lot of light for little current draw. The problem is that they can be blindingly bright and obscure the people at the scene.

    BUT MORE LIGHT.

Yeah, I'm with you. I have a controversial opinion on motorcycles too. If someone isn't going to see the blue and red lights from 20 years ago, they aren't going to see the modern LEDs. Their faces are buried in their phones, no amount of light is going to fix that. Same with bikes. "Run high beams all the time" for motorcycles, if you couldn't see their low beams, you aren't going to see their high beams. All these things are doing is blinding everyone who is paying attention, while having no effect on those who aren't. I hate that bikers have to drive like everyone is out to kill them, but blinding those who are paying attention isn't going to help. And maybe 30 years ago when high beams were 50% of what modern LED low beams are, it wasn't as bad. But in 2022? Shenanigans.

Also especially with emergency lights, all it does is blind drivers by constricting pupils as the roll up on an accident scene, making it harder to see the un-lit things (IE: PEOPLE!). Or forcing people to "look away" to keep themselves from being blinded, again, making it more dangerous for those working the accident scene.

LEDs and reflective clothing are a bad combination.

I had a long drive home from NH last night, and I was driving the wife's Highlander. Sits a little lower than I'm used to. I ended up adjusting the side mirror out so I wouldn't get blinded. I was hoping maybe the people with high beams on would be blinded by their own lights.

Anybody here replace trans cooler lines before? I've got 2 rusty ones on the infiniti and I'm tempted to just cut and use rubber hose with Clamps based on one youtube video I watched. Infiniti wanted like 850 bucks and to do it with their parts I think it's like 150 for parts. Just uncertainty on if I have to refill the trans etc.

I use the paper pellets in my cats' boxes at home, works great. Use a thin liner on the bottom of the pellets, then on top use a regular litter (or clumping to scoop if you wish). The pellets on the bottom make it much easier to clean.

I’ve done them on a jeep before. Wasn’t a big deal. You need flare nut wrenches. You’ll need to top off the fluid.
Adding hoses and clamps sounds like a leak or blowout waiting to happen.

From the parts and connections I'm seeing available I can just pop Clamps. No flare nut wrenches needed
