Based on the front info tag it controls a conveyor belt system. The belt will run predominantly by the VFD. More than likely has a program to regulate the conveyor by changing the amps to make sure it always spins at the same speed regardless of load. The bypass mode is if the vfd takes a shit or faults out the conveyor motors can still be run "across the line" by the contactors in the lower right. The 3 in series like that probably means they're in a wye-delta configuration.. old school way of limiting in rush current when starting the motor

I really really regret not buying this.

 

VFDs are pretty handy, but I think that voltage requirement is too high for anything at home.

Meh, depends on if the vfd is still functional or not. Also depends on what the HP rating of the vfd is. On the other hand there's alot of terminals there at the bottom and they're usually a buck something a piece so that adds up quick lol

 

You see, this is where you have much to learn in the way of hoarding and shitboxery. You supposed to buy and collect these things not for something you already have, but instead for something you're going to build. Sometimes built JUST to use what you bought.


Sounds like you need a conveyor system from various bedrooms to the laundry room .. or conveyor from garage to kitchen to transport snacks so you don't have to carry them. Or conveyor from garage to street so you don't have to wheel the trash out yourself.

 

you can get them on the side of the road for free....

The vfd is really the only thing worth anything in there. Even still it may sit on ebay for months if its an obsolete model.
