I’m at the dealership now. Solar octane is very orange in person. I didn’t like it from the online photos but on the Tundra here it looks great. My wife would like it since she’s a Clemson fan.

Strange seeing the Electric Lime non-Pro next to the new Solar Octane Pro. Going to be strange sightings on the road with the Sport/Off-Road trims available in EL.

I like it but after seeing this photo I’m really glad I went with Lime.

And lime doesn’t look as good on the non-Pros.

The other think I wouldn’t like if I went with solar octane is that it’s not exclusive to the Tacoma like electric lime green. It’s on the 4Runner and the Tundra.

The name may be different but the shade is hardly that different between T4R and Taco. But I get it every pro owner likes to believe theirs is the most special color, production number, etc. every year same responses, lol. Still a cool truck though.

I saw a video comparing Lime on the 4Runner and the Tacoma and it looked a lot different to me.

the good thing about Solar Octane is that it probably won’t be available next year on non-Pros because of the redesign

I wonder if on the Solar octane color the optional bed inserts will be a different color. I don’t think the red Pro letters would stand out very well on the orange. I think Solar octane looks great by the way.

    Center console organizer.
Has anyone installed the bedside (TRD PRO) inserts, like the ones for the back of the tailgate (TACOMA)? If so... can you post pics and let me know where you got them?

Love these Solar Octane Tacomas, but the wife said hellllllll no..... so I ended up with Lunar Rock. I think the Solar looks fantastic with that metallic flake and how it shifts between orange and red with just the slightest pinkish undertone.

My unsupported /unsolicited theory is that Toyota used each vehicle's respective silver offerings and mixed it in with green to get their slightly different flavors. The Classic Silver on the T4R is a bit flat and less shiny due to the 4Runner's silver base. The Tacoma now sports the more updated Celestial Silver Metallic. This makes for an overall shinier base. It's not really "my thing" but I feel the Taco pops more in this color.
