Yup, just replace with longer peices of rubber line, and you should be all set!

I would still recommend replacing the metal line like the factory has, but sometimes it can be costly, or the parts don't exist anymore. It sounds like in your case you can still buy the lines new, which is nice.

Sounds like CT drivers. Common sense is not common here lol. I hate driving here and I live in CT :D.

I was driving back from Canada Sunday night. Once I got to Vermont on I-91, I just set cruise control to 65mph and cruised in right lane. Spotted lots of deer casually hanging out near the highway. Guess who was passing me and others probably going 80-90mph, while also waving around other vehicles?
Yup, cars with CT license plates :anonymous:.
I used to drive in a similar manner when I was a bit younger and had turbocharged hatchback. It's in our blood lol.

I wasn't going to say anything about CT drivers because I crapped on RI drivers, but...

They are very aggressive, to say the least.

I'm always amazed that they do well over 70MPH on the Merritt. Drive 70 and you'll get your doors blown off.

That's because Merritt Parkway in the Fairfield County never has cops doing radar enforcement. That's due to lack of space to pull people over on the Merritt and it's not safe enough to actually park a police cruiser on the grass there (again, due to lack of space). I have been traveling there to work for the past 7 years. It's a common knowledge there is no State Police doing enforcement.
People know this so 80mph is your average speed of travel on the Merritt :anonymous:.

I think you need to aim a little higher with that average... I was pushing triple digits and in the right lane last time I passed through there. It's like the damn autobahn.

 I had a dude blow through the cones of a construction zone to pass me before the lane ended. Well, after the lane ended, but he really needed to be in front of me. Worth noting, there was a huge chain of cars and trucks in front of me, it wasn't like he was going to make it through faster with that shenanigans

Boston/MA - Aggressive, knows it, they make jokes about it. Can be predictable.
RI - Horrible, dumb, think they're god's gift to driving
    CT - Selfish.

You can predict stupid, you see it all the time. RI is just dumb. CT you can't predict the selfishness all the time.

I only went 287 > 95 after Allentown. Also, had a dude get on the highway and get so close to me in the right lane going 65 I couldn't see his hood. I've had people pull up I can't see their lights, that's dumb. Can't see your hood? Dude..... I only had to hit my F U lights once, and it was for him. Don't get me involved in your stupidity, go around - it's a 3 lane highway, I'm in the right lane, what are you doing here....

I was on 95 going 70 had an Audi SUV blow my doors off. Easily 120.

I drove like a dink with my Mazda 3 Hatch. The speed3 has a turbo I think. Still miss that car, wish I had kept it instead of trade in.

I had a Mazdaspeed3 which was essentially FWD equivalent of Subaru Wrx, but yes lol.

I had 2011 speed3 for almost 7 years. Sold it in 2020. Were you on Mazdaspeed / Nator forums back then?

Noooo I only had the 2.5 NA in a 2012. I wasn't an "enthusiast" I just had fun with it. Too much fun. Looked down and I was keeping up with an Audi in front of me going 85ish in a 45. That ain't a simple ticket if you get popped, that's riding my bike to work because I have to.

I got the truck instead. Different beast. Still fun but in different ways.

Might look for a Miata to dick around with. I like having something spritely but not overbearing.

20+ years ago, during the height of the Big Dig, I responded to a crash in what was then the southbound South Station Tunnel on I-93. This was about 03:00 and this guy on his way home from whatever bar he was drinking in drove through the cones and rear ended the Statie in his cruiser doing the detail.

When we arrived he was trying to explain to the Sgt. why it wasn't his fault. We had a generally pretty good working relationship with the MSP, but as I approached this kid to see if he was hurt the Sgt. growled at me, "He's not hurt." and then turned to the kid and said, "Try to explain to me how you managed to miss the cones, signs, and blue lights on the cruiser.'

I just kept on walking and joined my partner at the cruiser while he evaluated the trooper. Who fortunately was not seriously injured.

On a related note. Unlike most other states the double fines in work zones in MA applies whether or not there is construction going on. As a friend of mine, ironically from CT, found out on the Mass Turnpike early one Sunday.

None of any of this surprises me.

I was going back through around 7-8PM on a Friday too, so I'm sure there were more "partying" drivers out and about rather than just commuters.

I know we had discussed music services in the past. Just got the email - Amazon opened up their music full to prime subscribers.

Interesting. Might have to give it a second look-at and dump spotify

It appears that changed in 2021. 90/17D now states "An active construction zone speed limit shall be effective when signs giving notice of that speed limit are prominently displayed in proximity to the active construction zone and construction, repair, maintenance or survey work is performed."

The key to me is it says and instead of or. So in addition to the signs "(effective when) construction, repair, maintenance, or survey work is performed." It'd still probably be a pain to fight though.

One of my pet peeves is leaving temporary lane closure and police officer ahead signs up all the time. I've seen some situations where they were trimming trees or working on power lines on Friday and the signs are still up when going through Sunday. People are going to start ignoring them completely and flying through areas if that keeps up. I'd say more often than not lately I pass those signs and nothing is going on.

That is interesting. I used it once before and found it wasn't comprehensive enough to bother with.

The thing I like about Spotify is how well they have their interface setup to use multiple devices. If I'm playing music on the outdoor speakers with my garage laptop, I don't need to go into the garage, just open Spotify on my phone and adjust songs, volume, whatever, and it impacts the laptop unless I intentionally change it to listen on phone.

Thanks for catching that. I agree about leaving signs up. That happens fairly often in my town and they never take the signs down on Route 24 it seems.
