Not positive but if you initially sign up for connected services, then depending on the Head Unit, looks like you'll have 3 or 10yrs of functionality without a subscription.

The less I see of the dealer the better (except free warranty work) where the dealer bills the manufacturer. I know Kia dealers do.

Yeah I was just curious to see if it was the same as the 09 I had with an aftermarket remote start, it is. I'm not sure how or why the TPMS is involved as its got nothing to do with starting/running the truck.

Anyhow these days I like to be able to start from anywhere.

Your link relates to the 2018 and newer trucks, which all come with "Connected Services". The 2016 and 2017 trucks didn't have that from Toyota. I just installed an N2 Remote Start kit in my 2017 Limited on Friday. I don't know if there's any easy way for you to tell what is installed in your truck, short of trying to look under the dash at the area of the ECM and Ignition Switch.

The tpms tap in is used for the oem fob to unlock the door. For some reason it ( the fob) won’t unlock the door. Unless you tap into the circuit.
I have no idea why it is that way but I am grateful I can use the system without adding another fob.

One thing I thought about. If you don’t use the tpms tap in wire. I believe soon as you open the door the engine will quit. I’m not sure about this. But the system thinks the car is being broke into. Just a thought.
