Post Your Painted Lower Valance and What You Used

So I'm trying to figure out what products to use to paint my lower valance on my 06 SSM...
Post up your pics and what products you used to do the mod.

Get a can of plasti dip. Can go wrong for $5.

I've read that the Plastidip may peel when pulling off the masked areas?

 

simple solution is to lightly cut w. a razorblade along the tape edge. or just spray it on, cut where you want it to end, and peel off the excess

 

Pull the tape off while the plastidip is wet.

 

Im doing Plasti-dip and like others say, just lightly cut the edge or just peel it off while its still wet....

 

First I masked the edges good


Then Put up the paper for overspray taping it to the edge tape so it stuck real good. Sanded with 800 grit block and wiped down with water and soap then alcohol


Then sprayed Rustoleom black auto primer with 4 coats (1 light, 2med, 1light) then did my OD Green (2 light, 3med, 2light)


Henced my Infideled-out Taco. Matches badges, emblem, and scoop plus interior

 

I just got some black vinyl and cut it to size that way you dont have to sand and paint anything. Plus it looks like you painted it. Good luck!

 

where did you get your black vinyl from?

plasti dip, thats what i did. if you dont like it its easy to take off. just wipe the area your going to paint with a rag and some rubbing alcohol then peel the tape off after about 30 min and youll be fine.

 

it was the factory black bumper, painted the rest white and kept that part black

i had the lower x-runner valance for a while...then i was about to paint it when i bought some carbon fiber vinyl wrap...pic of this morning.

 

So I think I'm going to Line-x the valance. I am leary of using the vinyl as I rear ended an old lady last year and put a little kink in the right side, so I'm thinking the vinyl will develop an air bubble...

 

not if you know what you're doing....depending on how bad it is

 

i rear ended some chick 2 years ago and the front license plate cut into the plastic on the bottom, it covers it but u can somewhat see the damaged thru my vinyl...kind off lol

I used plastidip the good thing is i can take it off if i need too but if you sure its what you want then just paint it.

 

Mine is Vinyl....... When/if i do it again I will be using plasti-dip. I am hesitant to change it though because the semi-gloss matches my satoshi.
