Custom, only one ever designed and built interiors, heavily welded frame, all sharp metal turned bed rack and a roof top I made for $75. Power pedal, injen intake system, cat delete, summit racing brake proportioning valve controlled on the fly, slightly adjusted or perhaps unrecognizable ECM, built in under bed storage, high clearance rear built with 1/4" on a 6011 1/8" rod at 120 amps, 360 degrees of led light, a PA and CB, on board air, on board propane (to cook food), on board fridge made from an old red bull fridge found on some guys man cave built into the storage cubby under the back seat, imported tranny and clutch from a good friend over in Europe to replace this aisin junk we get, combined 32 gallons fuel capacity, 18 5 gallons of water storage, built in gun locker under RTT, and all it cost was to hear the wife ramble on about upset neighbors at 2 in the morning every night since I bought that damn truck..

That is correct. Frees up the back seat and slide outs would interfere with my lack of conformity. I have to do things the hard way you see. So 2.0 is underway slowly but surely. This one is getting tied into the a/c system and just like a dual thermostat set up, I'll be running dual refrigerant canisters and simply use the a/c pro I have more than enough solar to run the motor and I already a split for the freon so the truck doesn't need to run for the compressor, it'll be the fridge itself. It's like a back up system tied in no different than dual batteries

Well sold the Hybrid and picked up a Mtn. Washington. Can say night and day difference as far as setup is concerned. 1min literally vs the 5-8 for my Hybrid. Very happy CVT had a sale. Was a pop up decision lol

jealous that you can fit inside your garage. I’m literally building a one-person removal skid for that same tent.

I also got the sale version. Aside from a myriad of metal shavings; it’s been great for three trips in a month.

Yea I made sure it was under my Plano boxes so I would fit haha. It seems to be a little lower than my hybrid

Hello! Got a question for you all…

anybody installed a wedge style RTT like the Desert Armor Ninja or CVT Mt. Hood on a ROOF rack (like Uptop Overland roof rack) on a double cab over the actual cab? I’ve seen it done with smaller footprint tents but not full size wedge style tents, which is specifically what I’m going with. It would extend out over the bed area obviously. I know it’s pretty specific, but I’d like to see if anyone here has done it and can give some insight/photos of it. I’m set on that design after having a few different styles of tents over the years, but am also really trying not to go the bed rack route this time around.

Anybody out there done it this way and can shed some light?

This might help or might not... but I have both uptop roof and bed rack.. I did 2 inch risers to get my hands under my cvt hybrid and it raised it enough to not bind on the uptop "armor".. I think it would be fine to use.. uptop makes 1inch and 2 inch risers20221022_083543.jpg 20221022_083552.jpg

Not a wedge, but my RTT is directly on top of the cab. Over hangs to the rear maybe 8 inches or so. I run a bar in the front so I didn't want the reflection but I could stand to bring it up 4 inches to center it. I designed my bed rack with this in mind so if I need to pull it to load hay, my fourtrax, etc, I can still have the tent. Smittybilt gen 2 xl foe the record. Hope that helps peace of mind

This is what I was looking for, thank you so much. Looks like length wise your tent is about 76 inches? The one I’m eyeing would be about 88 inches long ways so it would extend another foot, but hopefully it wouldn’t be an issue. Nice to hear it’s been a non issue and works OK. I’ll probably be pulling the tent when not in use, and after going back and forth with the idea of a GFC this seems to work better for what I want and will keep the bed open, and I just REALLY don’t want a cab height bed rack. I’m just somewhat nervous of having all the weight up there.

For future reference, I ran into the same problem. Used the zipper from a Nike backpack same fit different logo. No clue who's backpack, but I replaced my zipper worry free. They're all pretty universal size depending of course.

Anyone here ever try using one of these kinds of floor-space heaters with a portable battery in their rtt with any success? I’m thinking of using a shelf type system with a footstool where I’d place the footstool over the portable battery and secure the space heater on top of the footstool. Then, place all that at a corner by my feet in the rtt. I’ve used a zero degree sleeping bag for winter / snow camping in the rtt, but I don’t like how I’m sleeping like a mummy in it. I like to be able to stretch my legs and let my feet breathe, also; I prefer to be able to have my lower leg sections stick out from the sleeping bag. I’ve heard stories of rtt’s catching fire with portable propane heaters and the fad going around with diesel heaters. I don’t want to have the rtt catch on fire and I’m not up to speed with diesel heaters (it looks like there’s also a lot of equipment involved with diesel heaters that can potentially fail in the field). A portable battery and one of these portable heaters looks like something that may work for me. Another option I was thinking of trying is an electric blanket. I’m just scared I might get “electrifried” if one of those things goes haywire or if I pee myself while in it. :anonymous::rofl:

I have used one slightly smaller than the one on the left in my RTT but at camps with electricity only. I drilled a hole through the handle and hung it from the RTT frame. It was more than enough to keep us warm on low when it was 32-34f outside and kept condensation low. If you want to use a battery, it better be a BIG battery! Do the math on battery watt amp hours vs draw of the heater and I'm pretty sure it's not feasible.

    Yeah.
I haven't tried one, but those things draw a lot of power. I have a Jackery 500, and it can supposedly run a 100W electric blanket for almost 4 hours. A low-wattage heater like that, set on low, is 375W. You'd get maybe an hour run time on it. The biggest Jackery they sell would likely give you a little over 4 hours.
