But saying that mark ups are illegal in Canada. I know some dealers are buying the rigs themselves then reselling at a high price. The sales manager at my Toyota told me that the mark ups are illegal.

 

Fun story, a year and a half ago I bought my 21 TRD Sport and was "lucky" to get it for MSRP+$2K ($42k) after waiting 4 months, 5.7% interest on the loan as I was still recovering from a nasty divorce, bad credit etc...This past weekend I traded it for a 23 OR, got it for MSRP, went for financing and was actually hopeful as I've worked hard at rebuilding my credit and raised it by almost 150 points, I almost fainted when the finance guy told me it came back at 8.5%

 

Welcome to holding back inflation by raising interest rates to cool the economy. Not fun, but at least you know why you're getting screwed LOL

Yep actively working to find wife a hybrid awd highlander at MSRP or less. I cannot imagine what the 4th gen is gonna run. A basic a** new tundra with sh*t quality busted seat bottom parts is $56k.

 

This particular dealer only uses Toyota Financial, once I get the first bill with the account number on it I'm planning to try my credit union, they're usually better

I inquired about trading up to 2023 TRD OR 4X4 DCSB this morning while picking up a couple parts. All my local dealer had inbound was ice cap white. Who the hell wants a white truck unless you're a contractor?

They told me Toyota's not allowing custom orders. Is this true?

 

They never have. You have never been able to do a factory order in the traditional sense from Toyota. You put in a request for a particular truck from the dealer's allocation, they then try and match your request as closely as possible with what Toyota sends them.

 

Yup, was asking to order one at a dealer last week, you're at the mercy of the dealers allocations and what other dealer they can swap something with to get close to what you want.

 

You had to known the MFGs weren’t going to hold pricing (not that they can w this crazy ass inflation) and let the dealers make all the money. You’d do it too.

 

Well that stinks. I'm going to try another dealer tomorrow.
