So totally unrealistic conditions because you’re afraid of change. Got it.

Also 2x his salary is equivalent to a 10% annual pay increase. Someone doesn’t understand numbers.

I think it was supposed to be double the salary PLUS a 10% increase on that each year afterwards. Wish I could find a deal like that.

Oh come on I’ve been called worse today, by my own mother even, but one thing I’m not is wrong. Based on the misinformation and total turd-brained logic used in some of this thread I have zero issue laughing these posts off as being a defense mechanism for some of our developmentally challenged members.

Can't wait to start seeing Hydrogen Fuel cell trucks hitting the roads. I saw a Car, Toyota Mirai fuelling up down the street from my house at the station. I looked it up. Pretty cool, 400mi range, quick refuel time and 6 years or up to $15k in free fuel! and pretty affordable.

Lol it’s also questionable why the salary has anything to do with the vehicle. So is all the talking out of his ass because he simply can’t afford the vehicle? If he made more money then he’d drive one, despite weeks upon weeks of trying to make some semblance of an argument against the validity of the vehicle? So Lamborghinis are shit vehicles. Rolls Royce’s just fall apart as soon as you get the keys. Don’t get me started on those sad little McLarens.

It's not unrealistic. I don't want to drive an EV, so double my salary so I can purchase the 150k+ EV I don't want.

Yes double my salary, then give me a 10% increase each year.

They are interesting but unlikely to go anywhere. Toyota has only produced about 17k Mirais worldwide in eight years and the infrastructure required to support it is even more complex and underdeveloped than EV chargers.

If it’s not unrealistic then what are you waiting for? Go out tomorrow and get the job that doubles your salary and vacation time along with offering free EV charging and a 10% annual pay increase.

Color me confused, but in what world does a 100% increase in pay (a doubling of a salary) equate to a 10% increase in pay?

Over the course of many years maybe, but 50,000 doubled is 100,000. 50,000 + 10% of 50,000 is only 55,000.

I can't figure out why people champion for EVs, especially the Rivians. It's an electrified Ridgeline with an air suspension.

The company won't even run the truck on a 90 day endurance test. I don't think the Rivian could out pull any of the internal combustion trucks during the truck pull challange.

Thread is kinda pointless. Wait until the electric Tacoma comes out in a few years then compare the two

I champion my PHEV Toyota, does that count? :p

Free L1 and L2 are awesome. As are (pay) L2 that costs less than the garage fee. Doesn't take L3, doesn't need L3, that's what the gas pump is for. Most of my commute miles are electric as they're under the 40 miles of EV range. Charging at destination just means I get to go a little further (for cheaper) before I start burning gas. Costs me 5c/mile on house electricity, 10c/mile on gasoline, after all.

I think most folks could use a PHEV truck, tbh. More power on hills, cheaper to run for the shorter runs, still gasoline when you need to go long distances. And likely more power than what ya got.

I could do that, but it's my current employer that wants to incentivize employees to drive EV.

That would be two different approaches to different things.

An electrified Ridgeline with more horsepower and similar torque as a 3/4 ton diesel. Which in every truck performance category it outclasses all midsize trucks and matches or exceeds many 1/2 ton full-size trucks. A truck that has legitimate 4wd at all times unlike every other truck on the market. A truck that the company took prototypes on a 13000 mile trip from the southernmost tip of South America to Los Angeles.

My commute is 20 miles a day total. I think that's the longest commute I've ever had.

So why not look into (when Yota makes one) a PHEV Taco when you want to upgrade? Should get something about the same range as my Rav, give or take. Still can gas up on long trips, while keeping it cheap on the short ones.

It's still a soccer mom configuration, may as well be driving a minivan.

No large PCD hubs, that's what I see for the future of Toyota trucks. Maybe I'll be wrong. I didn't purchase a Tacoma for mpgs or a hybrid option.
