Alt Bracket by caffiend posted Nov 1, 2022 at 4:58 PM[/GALLERY]A few inches above the alternator electrical connections, there is a small metal plate. It is held onto another metal bracket by a 10mm bolt. What the hell it that for? I had to remove it to get the alt out, now I can't locate it. nor can I figure out what it is designed for. Anyone know?

My guess is it keeps liquids from falling onto the alt, should you spill something right over it.

Actually in this particular case it'd be an Oil Spilling Ape. They're an endangered species, hence why Toyota included the oil baffle plate in order to protect them as part of their Automotive Wildlife Conservation Initiative. It's not often you get to see one out in the wild in its natural habitat.
