Should I go back to stock and return 5100/5160 and should I sort of level it or not?

    Hey tacomaworld

I originally was planning on leveling the truck to be able to fit a 275 70 17 on my 2020 trd off road tacoma, but have herd bad things about the process of leveling.

Is the factory rake actually a good thing even if I dont tow anything? Will lifing the front about a half inch cause the rear to sag when I load it up with camping gear?

I also herd that the ride quality is pretty rough on the bilatine 5100 on the second clip(0.65) clip setting. Is this true?

Should I go ahead and return them since they have a 30 day return policy(got them at 4wp).

Sorry about the indecisiveness, but I want to know if they will be better than stock since I really like the way the stock TRD off road drives and would like to know if they are worth it to keep!

If you level it the rear end will squat like a full diaper once you put gear in the bed.

Yes it will squat with any load, I've leveled and regretted it.

You can add a 1" block in the rear with no issues with 5100's, or add-a-leaf, or a leaf spring set. Choice is yours.

The ride is fine until you go past 3rd clip, after that it becomes quite harsh. 1-2-3 all ride ok.

Ok thinking I shouldn't level now, should I return the shocks and stick with stock?

I say buy a 1" block, usually 100$ and it will counter the level. Get some lift and 275s!

Zero, its a very typical thing to do on Tacomas, even the factory TRD lift kit has a 1" block. It will sit higher, thats it.

Urgent is for I've tried looking around on multiple forms and reddit too but I only have 30 days to decide to keep or return them and I would need to do it before I put them on to be able to get the full return on them them

Not a fan of 5100 myself..or block lift. Why not just spend a little more and get the 275 as well?

Will the 275 rub on factory suspension?

I've heard that there were some issues with the block lift not too sure if its completely safe, but I'll definitely consider it though!

Leaf blocks are fine up to 1", like I said, Toyota uses one in their own kit.

Front block lifts are the issue, they have many pros and cons. 5100's are a way better choice than a leveling kit with blocks.

Reddit was last resort since no one on tacoma had a definite answer, no one that I know has the 5100s, and youtube or any toyota forms had anything really

Edit: The guys at 4 wheel parts said that they were definitely better but the only issue is that they all drive jeeps

I have brand new TRD factory 1 inch lift blocks for sale if you're around LA. $50 and they're yours.

Do the 275 70 17s fit on stock suspension, if so I might just go ahead and return because kinda need the extra cash for now.

Might just save for the trd lift kit instead because of warranty type stuff.

This and took out the part about anything higher than the third notch riding rough. I have experience with the 4th being fine. The spring rate doesn't change unless you change springs. That myth gets spread too often.
