Well, first week in November means putz the greenhouse for winter.
Remove the 30% shade cloth. I'll be putting up some 60%, which I just may use after winter - given this past summer heat.

Everything comes out, so I can take apart the shelves for the wall insulation (after clean up of course).

Peppers, the avocado the wife is growing, and the Basil go to the walkway. And the herbs, and small stuff will sit on the table.

Maybe next year..... I do have a bunch of habaneros. I just used a mess of them last week in Racoon Stew (pepper spray to get rid of them!)

    Evening all:

    Sue!
Maybe you just need more squirrels to clean up those acorns.

You're back Rob :woot:, how's the hunting and fishing going?
Saw where they are shutting down some of the commercial crab fishing In Alaska, that has to stink if that's your main source of income.

I'm a terrible gardener. I just torture vegetables, and see what they do! I have the greenhouse primarily to winter the outdoor plants. But I modified it, and keep trying to get something in the summer! Some years, I even have a crop. This year wasn't terrible, just wasn't good. But we keep setting these heat and drought records....
Someday, my veggies will look like this! :broccoli::kona: (I have harvested a pineapple from a top cutting!)

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!

SPent yesterday mulching leaves with the mower and then picking them up with the garden tractor/bagger. The leaves get too thick on the ground that if you leave them, they kill the grass underneath. Still have another day of that before I get ahead of it. It's raining here so I'll let them dry out overnight into tomorrow.

Then I brought in the porch furniture and carried it downstairs to store for the winter.

I think today I'll just read a book.

Thank You. I will give PIAA a try. Need to find out if any of the major auto parts stores carry them. I still have a little life left in the blades that are on the Tacoma now. One thing I like about this thread is the practical information I receive about my Tacoma.

As others have said, no need to wait. Just stay out of Mikes rocker and you will fit right in.

My observations, from ownership as well. I think I have a set of Bosch on the Tacoma now but I am not sure.

One thing I learned early on after joining this forum is: so many members like to take the Tacoma where is should not be possible to go.

Always nice to see pictures of your greenhouse. We are moving and replacing a shed next year. We were going to use the space as a second garden area, but a greenhouse sounds like a nice little project.

Good morning! Yesterday was long but fun. The seat cushion I purchased did the job and there was no pain after the day was done. In a lot of ways working the polls is a humbling experience. So many voters came in using canes and walkers. I also could not help but notice the number of voters that were confused by the actual ballot itself. We should not take everything for granted and look at the situation through someone else's eyes.

Today is taking down the Halloween decorations.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! We actually had some Trick or Treaters :pumpkin: for the first time in probably a decade - grand kids in a wagon with grand parents from across the street! Take down the decorations means changing the little garden flag, and picking up the witches hat on a stake. Then I'll either putz some green house or garage, depending on the small chance of rain this morning. That's it.

Thanks for working the polls Tom. My wife took cookies out to the little old ladies that work our early voting - on a red plate and a blue plate to be fair.

That was so thoughtful. Prior to the pandemic we, us poll workers used to bring in Potluck for lunches and dinners. I used to have a bowl of small, wrapped candies for the children at mt table. I was a Provisional Judge, and the parents were at my table for a few minutes filling out the required paperwork. The pandemic changed all of that.

Tree removal today. Had to hire this one done. It's a big old growth live oak, sitting too close to our buried concrete aeration tank. Don't want to break that expensive puppy! The tree will have to be partially taken apart, then aimed precisely. It's rotten in the bottom center, so aiming may/may not be spot on. Two landscaping guys were chomping at the bit wanting the job, so I used that to lower the price a little to 1k. Wife won't allow me to do this stuff anymore. Smart lady. Best I can do is to be a third wheel, pulling a rope line at the right time, then running. Can do.

I have two trees that will need to be removed in the next 5 years. Going to cost a fortune where I live. Hopefully you will have a lot of firewood after the removal.

I had two taken down a couple years ago. Of course it was expensive, but the 'Silver lining' was firewood. Split some that I got from a neighbor over the weekend. That needs to season for a while.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Never did stop dripping yesterday, so couldn't move the table saw to the drive, and was miserable damp putzing the greenhouse. Managed to get the cover on since there was no wind, and was cool enough the vents didn't open. No rush.
Got a Zoom with our financial people today to beg them to stop throwing our money away!
