Even more humane than that: Be honest with everyone that the only way to keep current entitlement programs without destroying the economy is for transfer payment recipients to have their benefits cut. Do you want 65% of your promised SS money or none of it? Because those are your options.

sold NVDA call this morning too early into the morning pump. missed out on an extra 30% but im fine with 36%

 

I’m doing well so no big gambles in this market this year with this account (tax free IRA). I kept one and it worked out nicely and I had net gains which is THE most important outcome. I’m just barely outperforming the market.


But I’m lubed up for $ROKU earnings.

 

Use trailing stops!!!! I set mine at around 8-10% or $0.35-0.45 on high volume calls. I set it at $600 and it went all the way to $785 and then my trailer sold me at $737. Extra $137 no effort. Worst case was $560ish if it immediately dropped when I set the trailing stop.

i use robinghoods because fidelity wont approve me for options trading and i dont think theres an option for trailing stops on robinghoods

 

I've never touched that garbage company but it wouldn't surprise me at all if this is by design.

Just apply and lie. 1 year experience. How do you think anyone initially gets options approved if they all required experience? Apply for level 1 covered calls, puts, and calls. If they deny call customer service on a Friday and get the suckers stuck working late on a Friday to approve you just to get off the phone.

 

Closed my $NVDA $130 for $1400. Paid $800. The money was too good. Looking to reload with maybe 1 11/18 at the money call on a redip.

I didn't even have to lie, I think they asked me a few basic questions about options that I answered to be approved. I am only approved to buy options, OR sell covered calls (I have to have the shares, and I don't think I can go ahead and sell any of the shares while I have an open call). I haven't sold cash-secured puts, but I assume it may be similar - it earmarks the cash in the account and you can't do anything with it.

Whatever it was, I didn't have to even lie about options experience. I think I saigned some waiver that I understood the risks, at the most.

TD does it in levels. I am level 1, I could do naked calls but that's level 2 or some crap. Maybe level 2/3/expert/paladin needs to have experience/proof of experience/etc? I dunno.

 

This is true. I also got Scottrade/TD Options approval for very basic stuff. I just wanted to buy calls. Parlay this into fidelity a few years later

 

I applied a while back and got access to level 1 but that only allows me to do covered calls/puts

i dont have the fund for that yet...well maybe for BBIG, but i'd rather not touch those options.


i've applied 2 times after that to get to level 2 or 3 and they denied it...even after lying and saying i have 5 years options experience.

robinghoods was the easy way out.

Level 1 SHOULD allow you to buy calls. Fidelity has a “no calls expiring today” rule unless you have the cash to exercise. I would call customer service and inquire
