Any time some one is providing a service for some one they should go over the top to make sure they have what they need. Just because they work for you doesn't mean they are your servants. I can not stand initialed people.

I think the story said that he was a friend of the groom doing the wedding for free even, and they still couldn't give the guy a meal lol. Makes it even worse

I don't think I'd have deleted the photos just cause if word gets around that you might do that when upset then its not likely anyone is gonna hire you to do their wedding haha. But its definitely one of those feel good gotcha moments for us on the outside

There were a lot of people defending the bride/groom in the comments of that story. It's pretty unsettling but some people are very black/white when it comes to money, to a fault.

I agree with you, if someone is providing you a service especially on a day as important as your wedding, the least you can do is count them in for a plate of food. Weddings are long days usually.

I still laugh at the photographer we used. POS asshat... He shows up, does his thing and is awesome throughout the entire event. After we returned from our honeymoon we were scheduled to sit down with him to review the pics and select the ones we wanted for our album, wall frames, etc. He was also to provide us with all of the raw images on a portable drive. Well, he vanished without a trace. No return calls, no response to emails, nothing. I finally mailed him a certified letter informing him he would not be receiving his final payment (we paid our deposit only) and I would be pursuing legal action to recoup our deposit. He finally responded months later and did supply the raw images but of course nothing else. He then had the ball sack to demand final payment. Pfft. He didn't get shit.

Whats worse is his buddy was our videographer. Now that dude, professional through the entire process. Superb work. He felt bad that his best bud flaked.

Geeez....did you ever figure out why he up and ghosted like that? I mean I get that life happens at the worst times sometimes, but all it takes is a little communication to keep things from getting ugly. Sorry you had to experience that.

I've done one real wedding before and I'll never do it again lol. The stress is just too much, I would rather do an ad campaign for a big corporation with hundreds of thousands of dollars on the line than ever do a wedding again haha.

some people are really good at it though and thrive on the wedding energy vibe, hectic as it can be. Those are the ones you want to hire

@Tour991 did you see this one

reminds me of one of my old beer league team captains...guy was the worst skater you've ever seen, but man he had the confidence of an NHL player making $10 million a year.

Every time he was on the ice we may as well have been killing a penalty shorthanded, actually that would've probably been better. I always looked so forward to the games that he was out of the lineup on.

Yeah, he and his wife welcomed their first kid a couple of days before our wedding. They had massive family with them and he totally said he was fine on the wedding day but his wife would not be his second photographer of course. He was fine that day and seemed ok. Then he just up and vanished. You and I have been through the first born thing and it can certainly be stressful but not returning calls or emails weeks, months after the fact is just plain wrong.

@Speedytech7 would you consider yourself a real machinist? Or is there a thread on here of machinists chatting?

I'm attempting to convince the owner to buy a starter cnc mill with lathe attachment so we can save money in the long run by machining our own parts vs buying them from local machine shops. I'm smart enough and patient enough to pour over the machinist handbook for speeds and feeds but I've got questions on which cutting tools would be best for which materials and insert styles for threading functions and things like that

I forgot he was still out camping, thanks for that.

I'll try there, I'm not in too big of a rush for answers just cause we're about a year out from when it would make sense to buy a machine

Man, you guys talking about horror stories with photographers make me feel even more thankful for the one we had.

She's been just sending the pics 20-30 at a time via her cloud/drive and once done, will give us the raw images as well.

    Was cheap too!

We had a guy like that on one of my old teams. 1st game of a new season he drilled this girl into the board (non checking C league) she was crying he was yelling. Needless to say that was his last game.
