For turkey day were headed up to Brasstown resort in north Georgia for their buffett. Crush lunch, leave it all there, hunt in the afternoon.

Thanksgiving for us has always been an open invite for our straggler friends to pass thru wherever. If they have no where to go, they’re welcome here. Some come from other, less social events to unwind. We typically do an oven turkey, breast side down. We inject (creole butter) and stuff (garlic, onion, orange, apple, celery, carrot, butter, parsley) and season (Tony Chachere w/green onion). The bird flips for the last hour with no tent. We’ve been known to fry, boil, turducken, brine, blacken, rotisserie and even Grill… whatever is left over, I boil the carcass in its broth, remove bones, and make Turkey gumbo with the stuffing ingredients (minus apple/Orange). Which can be frozen and gifted or used AFTER the turkey coma has worn off.

Havent heard that term in a while...working on B1 we had a couple pieces we used Phenolic. I think we used it as a scraper mostly if i remember right. Been a while though...so my memory is fading on that.

The C-130 used phenolics religiously. Everything from control cable grommets, aluminum tubing brackets and stays, panel bushings, and control surface accoutrements. Now phenolic being used for a backpack. Is this a rucksack?

I'm not sure if it's a rucksack or what. The guy this is for is a military buff, he loves the old stuff.

I'm guessing its for one of the old metal framed ruck sacks. Thankfully I never got the privilege to break my back on one of those.

First day back in the saddle and I forgot to pack extra ibuprofen. Over the hump at least. We'll see how the day finishes out. My brain is pretty muddy, I'll come back with a full update later.

Just pulled 5 hours on the leaves. I need to figure out a way to mount my leaf blower on the front of my little tractor.

    Alright @six5crèéd ...
I've had my second dose of ibuprofen thanks to a kind coworker. Was about to get either really mean really fast or pack my things and go home.
As I said, today is my first day back to work. I almost didn't come because I woke up an hour before my alarm with a splitting sinus headache. Wore an Ice pack on my head for the first 2 hours of my shift and the whole drive in.

So Friday, got to the hospital for check in at 645AM. Did some light paperwork, then my pastor, my wife and I prayed before I went to wait. Wasn't too long we waited and then I was ushered to pre-op, which I was in till about ~7AM. My minds fuzzy on the details. While there got some nice warm blankets and an IV then 10 minutes before surgery anesthesia doc came and asked me the standard questions, of course I'm nervous since this is my first real surgery since I was 3 (Had two on my right foot, wisdom teeth don't count). So I'm asking him a ton of questions he doesn't know the answers to lol. He says his piece and wishes me luck, then the doc comes in, and I blank on all my questions for the most part, just ready to get it over with at this point before I chicken out (Idk why I was so nervous for a 30 minute outpatient procedure, but hospitals wig me out). They give them the okay, I get the sleepy juice in the IV, I remember being wheeled into the OR because I was curious to see what it looked like inside but last thing I recall was the light overhead then I was waking up in excruciating pain in the recovery room. I felt bad for the nurse as I'm trying to stay calm but the pain is slowly creeping up from 5 to 6 to 7 to 8 and I'm like lady, I need some meds now! "I'm sorry hun but I can't give them to you yet, you have to wait just a few more minutes." I apologize, probably still medicated and telling her how I couldn't do that job, being around hurting moaning people all day long. Finally she comes over and pulls out the packing which she tells me is laced in the "good stuff ", she said the real words but I'm sure my eyes bout burst outta my head, but I was like well, what's done is done. It was a Dr. that did it, so not on me. After she finally gives me some oxy to knock the pain down, which lasted me a good while the rest of the day.
I was pretty okay most of Friday afternoon, and I think I even got up for a bit and played on my computer.
Friday night was a different story. The pain onset, but it was manageable with meds. I stayed off the prescribed pills for as long as I could, but that night hurt. This was when I started using Ice Packs to help with the sinus swelling.
Saturday we had a family gathering I really didn't want to miss, 3 hours one way. So I took my meds like a good little patient and managed to see a lot of family from my mom's side I don't get to very often. Unfortunately mom wasn't there so didn't get to see her. That afternoon I was spent and spent most of my afternoon listening to some upbeat quiet lo-fi music to try to stay positive and get some rest. So in and out of sleep with bathroom breaks. Standing up from bed sent my head pounding every time. Being 6'4" has its disadvantages when blood needs to suddenly fight gravity.
Sunday the Pain hit it's stride, although not as bad as post-op recovery, this was easily a 5 or 6 maybe even a 7 at times. Meds were my companion in this time, every time I was allowed to take them. Sleep was my only relief.
Monday morning was awful. I felt like I had the worst pounding hangover of my entire life, even though I had probably drank more water in that time period than I do in 2 weeks combined. I was drinking ice water as fast as I could get it all weekend. The ice helped he swelling (I wasn't allowed NSAIDs until after the tubes got pulled so I had to cope). I go in to my appointment, feel like I waited an eternity for the doc to show up, he says hey how are you "I'm dying doc, this sucks" Alright lets get those out, no hesitation, snips one stitch that was holding the tubes in, then yanks those suckers out before I have a second to think.
I kid you not, those things were at least 3-4" long and you couldn't really see them from inside the nose. So they were crammed WAY up in there. As soon as they came out, holy crap, all that pain gone. I had a feeling it had been a pressure thing, not from the incisions. That solidified that. Then he shoves this 6 inch tube in my nose to suck up drainage and goes wayyyy to hard working it around, holy crap.
but I could breath through my nose for the first time since the surgery. Finally have me a performance intake installed!

Unfortunately the breathing was short lived, as the congestion settled back in later in the day, but now I can self-medicate with anti-inflammatory meds to relieve the swelling. Can't blow my nose for another week, so I get to shove tissue corkscrews up my nose and swirl them around to get the crap out. Which sucks... I still have a stitch that really enjoys every time something snags it..... not.
Tuesday I also woke up with a splitting sinus migraine and I just couldn't take it and took my "Do not operate machinery" med and called in. Today was almost a repeat, but I figured I could tough it out with ibuprofen.

My brain feels like I've lost several brain cells over the course of this and I've definitely gotten weaker from just laying in bed. Once I'm all healed up its gym time.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, mouth breathing due to all the crap in my nose, has caused my mouth to get so dry my front teeth ached and my lips has peeled a few times over now.

Todays the best day so far except yesterday being medicated. Definitely more clear minded today, but it's gonna be a while till I'm 100% again.

TLDR; I got sinus surgery. It sucked, but in the end it'll be worth it. Did I mention Ouch?
