Interesting... I was on the verge of getting the 352's until you said that. They are claiming 352's will give 2.4inches without a lot of extra weight but wasn't sure about ride quality. I'd like to keep on road ride as nice as possible. And I'm thinking I can get a little time with my stock UCA's if I go with the 314's

Honestly, Id just get the new UCA's. Otherwise its another day in the shop and probably more expensive then doing it all at once.

Hey guys! so i’m in a dilemma. I currently run bilstein 6112s. i was wondering if i can use the dobinsons coil on my shock? will it raise my front end a little or no? i’m tryna get back up to 3 inches. i feel like the bilstein coils aren’t strong enough and sag

Not sure about that... I just received the 314's and 5100's. But I don't have much weight up front. the guys at Dobinsons said the 352's will hold more weight. But for 3 inches check their website, I believe they have a 3 inch coil as well

No, the coil size and type used on 6112s are different and won't work on Dobinsons struts

Since you've own your set up, how has it been holding up for you? How's the ride quality and what are your measurements from hub to fender? What make and model Tacoma do you have? I'm curious because I want to know how it would compare to Bilstein 5100 + Ome 886.

If you want your springs to sag go with ome if you don't go with dobs. I first had 886s and now with dobs set up 0 sag what so ever.

The newer OME coils do not sag. They end in “x”. Have had both Dobinsons and OME on my truck and both are good couls

For you maybe but I’ve had them on both my 4R and Tacoma and for over 40k no sag

I've had the MRA setup on my truck for 6 months now and I love it.
I believe it is a 2.5 to 3 inch lift.
It has the C59-352 coils up front and L59-111-R leaf springs.
The ride is a little stiff but finally installing my plate bumper should fix that.
Also, playing with the adjusters hasn't gotten old yet.:D
    Thank you Crikeymike.

Figured I’d update since I’ve added steel skid, winch, bumper and sliders. Perfect rake so it sits level with all my camp gear and the truck feels way better with the added weight on the +600lb springs. Also squats way less when I throw my dirt bike on the hitch carrier.

With the UCAs and a talented alignment shop, I was also able to achieve around 4 degrees of positive castor and run 33s with no trimming or CMC.

Do you have any extra weight up front (winch, bumper, etc.)? I'm waffling on which coil to run. Its my daily so I don't want to jar the fillings out of my teeth, but don't want it to sag with the added weight either....

    Possible options:

314 coils, and GS59-220 struts - coil has 2" of lift with "medium" load, add in the 1" extended strut, and would probably net 2-1/4 - 2-1/2" with the weight after it settles. potential for smoother ride also.

352 coils, and GS59-220 struts - coil has 2" of lift with "heavy" load (110-240#). add in the 1" ext. strut, probably net the same.....potential for somewhat stiffer ride.

Too many choices.........and I know that smooth ride is subjective. Just trying to do it once. Just don't want it to ride like a 3/4 ton work truck.....I'm getting old!

FWIW, its got 5100s/stock coils set on 3rd notch, and the coils are giving up (154,xxx miles). Especially with the new rear suspension setup.

Newbie to Dobinson, I was actually looking into upgrading my stock suspension to Bilstein 5100’s. ( looking to upgrade my suspension once my truck hits 90-100k miles).

Mainly just looking for close to stock-ish height, better ride quality from my stock TRD sport suspension.

Truck is mainly used for work, hauling my gear and occasional camping 2-4 times per year.

Anyone recommend the following set up?

*side note I will be replacing smaller things like front and rear bump stops and perhaps upgrade the leafs as well. Nothing hard core.

    Thanks in advance gents.

That's a straight forward option to refresh the suspension, make it ride nicer and also add some lift. If you don't want to add some lift, you could just go with the IMS struts and shocks instead, reusing the front coils and not adding any rear lift. They're adjustable height up front as well.

Sounds good. As long as the lift isnt too drastic on ride quality. I wouldn't mind it.

Since this vehicle is straight commute and local camp hauler, was hoping for a complete-ish kit. (Minus the little extras I was going to add). Replacing top hats, bump stops while I was at it.

Here she sits. Completely stock, minus the wildpeaks.

Oops, I had to edit the links I put, as those were for a Tundra.

Yeah, either way. The way I have the kit builder on my page gives you heaps of options to replace pretty much everything, and to lift the rear with either blocks or an add-a-leaf kit.

    https://exitoffroad.com/product/dobinsons-lift-kit-toyota-tacoma-2016-2020-with-quick-ride-rear/

Doing a low lift, like 2" front and 1" rear won't affect driving quality or geometry much at all, and also doesn't require UCA's and other parts that a taller lift needs
