Headed into work. I dont eat alot of junk food except Huntin Season, but found these at Sheetzs. only one store carrys them. Damn they are good. off next week for huntin season so stocked up for the next week or so. the little girl at the checkout said i assume you like cheese puffs. and giggled. I said No,they are Christmas presents. we both laughed. E03EA4E5-0A08-48EE-B945-8CA177D4A800.jpg175D573B-7629-4DE1-8C46-9A1AD517A604.jpg

    File this under ironic:

I'm a Schwinn Stingray guy. I have a few super clean Stingrays, one that's restored and a couple that are original but they're all super clean.
So about 2 years ago when I was looking for a balance bike for my son I stumbled across this fancy carbon fiber balance bike for $1,000.
I clearly remember thinking to myself "what kind of rich dousche bag would pay a thousand dollars for bike when the kid is just learning how to ride ?"
So now my son is 4 1/2 and he's mastered the balance bike thing and I'm currently looking for a 16 inch Schwinn Stingray midget for him.
They're getting harder to find and even the beat-up ones are going for $450-$500, this 1968 Coppertone one is $800 and I would gladly $1,000 for a clean sky blue one, the same color as my bikes. Anyways, I just thought that was ironic. I justify the price because it's something collectible and it's also something that my son and I can bond over in the years to come - and it's still cheaper than what it costs for a family of 3 to go to Disneyland for one day..

Love the old Schwinns. My neighbor had an Orange Crate when I was a kid. I was SO jealous. My parents but me the "knock off Schwinn". It was a Huffy Dragster with a large back tire, skinny front, ape hanger bars and a tall sissy bar. I put a speedometer on it. Thought I was SO cool! LOL

I know you called it a balance bike, but I would still need a place to put my feet

For some reason when I saw the pic I just thought about 'The Starry Night'.
I was wondering if you unloaded the camper during the off season. Do you have some pallets to rest the belly on? I've never been around a slide-in camper when the are in 'storage' mode, I always imagined that they would be wobbly if they were left up on the jacks.

yep, camper comes off and cHebby gets a little break from all the extra weight.
i don't do pallets or anything. its pretty stable on its own and the manufacturer does caution against putting on anything that doesn't support it fully from below. plus the hassle of trying to store pallets the rest of the year. the center of gravity of the camper is such that is does fine - it is a little shaky on its own but i sleep up there and it doesn't tip over. i do usually go out and sweep the snow off the roof, front first, once it starts piling up. also, its parked on the east side of the building and most of our winds come out of the west so its pretty protected where it is.

My son grew out of the 12 inch balance bike so I bought him a 16 inch BMX bike. He still enjoys the balance thing so I removed the cranks and pedals and converted it into a balance bike for now. I'm a wood flooring contractor by trade and you have no idea how OCD I got over making that little piece of wood for his feet..

My older brother is into the Krates, I prefer Stingray Deluxe without the springer forks. Both of these are 1966 original paint bikes, mine has the whitewalls and the 3 speed with shifter belongs to a friend.

I restored these, 1967 Deluxe Stingray and 1965 Slick Chick Stingray..
