The only other options are a trickle charger (even overnight). A water heater unit that taps into the the hose to the heater core. Or thermo dip stick which heats the oil in the pan. But that option seems like it wouldn’t work given the tight tube we have in our trucks.

I leave a charger on my truck all winter, I work from home so I can go a few days between driving and hate having my battery frozen. I would love to have a coolant heater at some point, but I think keeping the oil warm is the most important part for engine life.

Here is my charge port in the wheel well.

Pretty nifty. The water heaters heat the oil as well. To an extent thru convection

The ultimate winter kit would be to have oil pan heater, block heater, trickle charger, and cab heater. Then in the winter time your truck is clear of snow/ice all the time, and the engine is always ready to go.

My garage is full all year. I keep a 73 challenger and a 91 bmw in there.

So I get to deal with this in the winter.

The is is correct. Basically I carry less than 300 lbs in the rear so I went stage 1. Ride is pretty plush with my rack, tent, and spare. And truck is level with the deavers and a 2.5-3” lift up front. Only wish is that I went spring under axle for more uptravel

Oh yeah. Living in minny has its disadvantages. Same in New England. Makes me appreciate the summer months. Summer days I would imagine for you guys.

Can you believe it is not referred to “Indian summer” anymore?? The new moniker is 2nd summer. I’m part Indian or American native. I have no idea why the term would be insensitive. Or derogatory.

Yikes…. In Florida they use them things they call carports. Seriously, I don’t know if all those heaters would stop snow from falling on top of your truck. Then you would just have the skating rink surrounding your truck, eh?
