Yeah, when I took it for a test drive I wasn't very impressed with it either lol I opted for the factory 2inch hopefully that is dialed in.

Haha I liked mine stock a lot, just mods needed supporting mods to be smooth again. I don't have any experience with the factory lift, but hopefully it's what you were hoping for. The biggest things for me were getting the suspension custom tuned to be comfortable and the tune to fix the shifting issues with the 33's. All the subtle stuff just makes it that much nicer and personalized but most probably wouldn't notice the changes. Mods don't have to be loud and in your face, I definitely prefer more of the subtle style.

    Yeah I'm the same. I think I'll only be going with a 265/75r16. I think it's a 31.6inch tyre I don't remember exactly

OEM TRD skid plate acquired thanks to @Ashgh posting a link to the best deal on these that I've seen a few weeks ago. Been holding out for a deal on these and this was awesome. Thanks d00d.

Install was a little bit of a bitch since I wasn't expecting it to use different mounting points than the factory piece.. and I couldn't really see any of the mounting holes, but I got it sorted out after about 20 minutes. I was going to re-powder this a different color before installing but I kind of like how it looks out of the box. The silver on white doesn't bug me nearly as much as I thought it would. Maybe I'll bash it up a little first lol. The only thing I did that others might not have is removed the oil filter access cover and applied some anti-seize to those bolts. Definitely don't want those stripping out.

TRD skid compared to the stock 'skids':

Even came with this cool little card to show you torque specs.. which I completely ignored since 33ft/lbs felt way too low after initially setting them there.

Not much of a mod but I threw in a K&N VF2005 cabin filter last night to replace my 3600-mile old factory one. Old filter was only barely brown but the A/C flows noticeably easier. No weird smell either since they're not oiled the same as the engine filters. Yay for mods I probably wouldn't have purchased if I didn't get an unexpected Amazon gift card lol. Was too dark to take pics but seems worthwhile so far.

Yanked the driver door panel off this weekend and replaced the cheap foam rattle seal with some properly thick felt strips to get rid of rattles. Did this to my passenger door a few months ago, guess the driver side got jealous. So far so good.

Threw in the Z Precision cupholder this weekend. Muuuuch wider and deeper than the stock piece. Really nice build quality too since they're injection molded and have perfect fitment.

I made a rubber insert to reduce rattling and threw a layer of Noico on the underside to help insulate and reduce cabin noise.

And another mod done that you can't even tell is a mod lol. I still need to get to the dealer to have them replace my Qi Charger pad. :/

    Smol weekend progress.

Washed the truck | Swapped in custom painted MESO 4x4 and Start button surrounds | Felt taped more stuff to help with rattles.

Before and after with my stock dechromed & painted surrounds vs the MGM painted MESO surrounds. The MESO pieces have a lot more style, I don't know why I didn't paint them before. Same paint & process in the before and after pics, I think the lighting was just different so they appear lighter in the photos. Look great in the truck though <3

Also since the truck needs to go to Toyota for some warranty work soon, thought it would be a good idea to put the K&N sticker on the airbox finally.

Popped the new Diode Dynamics Elite fogs this past weekend. These have VERY good output and actually match the Morimoto XB headlights better than the Morimoto XB fogs somehow. The XB fogs were about on par with the factory led fogs, but these are on a completely different level. They actually have the feel of an HID in their brightness and they have a nice deep blue top cutoff with a warmer lower cutoff. They also have a pretty sweet backlight when they're not on, but so far I'm a little unimpressed with the backlights brightness. I was hoping the backlight would act as more of a drl but looks only bright enough to really be seen under dim lighting. At least they had perfect fitment. I snagged some harnesses from @daveeasa to run the backlighting without having to splice anything and was very pleased with them. These harnesses use all OEM connectors and are built very well, absolutely worth the price.

    Slickkkk FBC harnesses:

    I used these 2 harnesses:
This T harness because I had halogens stock: Tacoma TRD 2016+ Halogen T Harness with grille lights | FBC Harness Solutions (square.site)
And this extension (1x12 and 1x60): Diode Dynamics Backlight Plug And Play Harness | FBC Harness Solutions (square.site)

Those fogs look so good, exactly what I want with an amber backlight then white for actually use.

What harness from FBC is it? I looked and I couldn't find it.

    Sick build as always man!

Thanks dude! I'm super impressed with the Elites overall. Their output is tremendous.

Updated the other post to add these links as well.

There's not really anywhere to put small bits of trash in this truck and the little square pocket behind the shifter is pretty useless.. so enter the Tacos4Cheap bucket/coin sorter. I chose the empty box style as I never carry change around and wanted a place to throw straw wrappers and etc. Out of the box it didn't fit great and required me to line the complete exterior with felt tape to avoid rattles but it fits perfect now after 1 layer all the way around and 2 on the bottom. Another subtle MGM accent added to my interior.

    Also mmmm that shift knob.

Well.. those letters didn't match close enough to the rest of my MGM things so... repaint process started. Sanding that R sucked lol.

Letter project complete. Balance has one again been restored to the interior.

*Not sure why the MGM is coming off so yellow in these pics, must just be how the phone is picking it up, the color is very sensitive to ambient light.

It was fun out there, not too many other people or bushes (tho did get a few pinstripes) but had a blast just playing around. Specifically, we were here and then just kept going south for a while. I want to go back and hit those whoops faster lol.
