Had the pleasure of doing the colonoscopy thing twice so far. Prep for me both times started well enough but ended brutally. Both times prep consisted of Dulcolax, Miralax powder and 2 x 64 ounce bottles of Gatorade all to be downed in a roughly 2 hour window. Both times started well enough but in both instances by the time I got to the last 16 ounces or so my digestive system revolted and demanded the removal of all offending liquids which it achieved in spectacular fashion by projectile vomiting all remaining stomach contents while simultaneously releasing my remaining liquid bowel contents. Not pleasant. On the positive side both times my prep was sufficient and only a couple of polyps on round one. My second time was less than a year ago so I have 4 more years before they tell me I'm up again.

Good morning. Slept in too late so it is a quick breakfast, shower and off to the nutritionist. Yesterday was busy. We processed 1714 voters for voting. A busy day.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Yeah, I've had a few of those colonoscopies. Think the second one was when they found cancer for no good reason, and I got radiated for a few months. Happily the end of that. Modern anesthetics are great, but they don't give you a popsicle for your throat anymore. BOO.

Nice truck find Ken - will it fin in a suitcase?

Got the walls in the greenhouse yesterday, pics later.

So, I've been in denial for the past two weeks. My primary at the VA said "I'm referring you to a hematologist. You have a blood disorder that sometimes indicates a cancer of the blood."
My appointment with the hematologist is tomorrow. I reason that if it was a serious threat, they wouldn't have me waiting for two weeks to find out my clock was ticking.
I can't check out now anyway. Just not convenient. I'm still buying toys, and I haven't played with the ones I have nearly enough. That would really piss off my wife too. She wants to be first this time 'cause she always puts me first in everything else.

I am always hesitant to throw this kind of post out there, especially to someone in the "process".

I just do... not... get... the medical establishment's hesitation once they suspect a diagnosis. My sister had a melanoma removed from her shoulder about fifteen years ago, and about two months ago while considering a treatment for a rotator cuff on the same shoulder they found a mass on her collar bone... Scheduled for a biopsy she began to find nodules suddenly appearing in different spots. No urgency from those holding all the power. At this point she has been diagnosed with stage four melanoma all over, and she has been "offered" a chance to "participate" in a study... which means they want to experiment, probably a 50/50 chance of some new drug as opposed to getting a placebo which will do nothing for her. All while the already new treatments are supposed to hold great promise. In the meantime new nodules are appearing... and she is still not being treated. No urgency at all. In fact the opposite.

Have you ever noticed that if there is a long line and people waiting, the person doing business at the counter makes a special effort to be overly polite and chatty to the person working the counter? As though they don't want to be rude by hurrying? It's that kind of thing.

Roughly about a cord and a half. I stopped cutting, splitting, stacking, etc. We now burn pressed sawdust blocks... easier to store, cleaner, consistent burn, less creosote, more heat, no popping, easier in every way to deal with. I may clean up the area and give the cordwood away. We donated a split cord, and a cord of rounds few months ago to a church family that heats with wood. Nice to have that extra space back. May do that again.

5 ton, electric, silent, and works like a charm! Just what I need to right size split logs for the fireplace insert.
No room in the shed, and too awkward to get in and out. So, it's going to live in the garage, and close to power.

I gave the habaneros and cajun belles (red) to our neighbor across the street, and got back salsa!

It could, but its's no fun at all to operate all stooped over! And too heavy to put on or take off a shelf. And I'm too old for that sh*t!

Rain, hail, and nasty weather in the forecast. Time to play Tetris is cleaning up the shop, putting away camping stuff, and clearing the floor so I can park there. I haven't done that since last spring, so a bit cluttered.

My Six-Man tent arrived from REI. Summer close out, so great price. The 10' x 10' floor is perfect for car camping, so I can stand up there before exiting. My tiny Big Agnes tent is fine for bike packing, but scrambling out of and going through a bunch of yoga moves in the middle of the night gets old.
