I used to have a Lexus SC300 and had some aftermarket headlights in it where the blinker wasn't very visible from the side. My solution to this was to add some LEDs to my side marker and tie them into my blinker. I drilled the side marker housing in the exact diameter of the diodes I was using and siliconed them in for a nice water tight fit. I was pretty proud of myself.

Then I made the mistake of wiring them in series with the incandescent blinker bulb. Incandescent bulb pulled probably 25 times (maybe more, I'm guessing because I'm too lazy to look it up) the current of the LEDs but since they were in series it was pulling that current through the LEDs and they basically turned into undersized fuses. Got really hot and melted the housing in less than 30 seconds. Also burned the crap out of my hand trying to get it off of my car before something caught on fire. I'm still not sure how they didn't just pop.

    Damn! Ok well lesson learned.
I think I've got this all figured out. I plan on separating the lights on two switches. Just like what comes in the kit.
so my only concern now is that the 3a fuse that came with the add-a-fuse isn't large enough.
See any harm in just popping in a 5a?
I tapped directly into a line with a 20a fuse coming from my battery into the bed of my truck. So I figure ill just tap the other switch into the load side of the 3a fuse and call it good.
Otherwise I could just get another add a fuse with a 3a in it, and tap off the battery line again. Any opinions on this?

Tried to make the wire loom look professional but could've been better.

It was there when I picked up the truck from the dealership. I have no idea what it is for...
