That was a joke. I actually want to black out my bike, except for the raw aluminum bits. Maybe someone will trade me a new Zeb ultimate for it.

I wish I would’ve got lucky with the revgrips and they sent silver or black, but ketchup and mustard it was. Going for their damaged bin discount lottery.

Doesn't everyone care about these things? :notsure:

Honestly, at the $600 mark, I would have been perfectly happy with a performance elite Fox 36 or Lyrik Ultimate (and that was sort of where I thought my build was headed). I planned on the blacked out look which would have matched the rear shock that came with the frame. The Kashima coating was just the icing on the cake at that price point.

    Buy low, sell high.
Or capitalize on an upgrade at a substantial discount.

Call it whatever you want. Worry about it when it’s your money.

I think everyone here understands that pain.

Finally at a point where I do not need any more bikes, have three and all of them together serve every type of riding I could/want to do. However, wouldn't it be nice to upgrade to an AXS system or a X01 drive train? Maybe the fat bike needs some new brakes - these ones work perfectly fine, but they could be even better. That suspension stem for the gravel bike would come in handy on some of the single track I ride. What good is a carbon frame mountain bike without carbon handlebars? the list goes on and on.........

I watched Hans Rey and Friends Slay the Bay on a long ass flight from Japan partially because I saw them film the SF segment. It’s got some cool fat bike history despite being an ad for GT.

Giorgio Tsoukalos is also in it for some reason.

Hey all, working my way through all these posts, though with 2000+ it's taking me awhile so apologies if this was answered already.

I have a 2022 Off Road with a 5' bed and I'm looking for some type of tonneau cover that will let me still run a Dakine tailgate pad, and ideally fit the mountain bikes (all mountain 29") on it with the tonneau folded to it's last third. I'm hauling my mountain bike 3-4 times a week to the trailhead, so trying to find a way to keep snow out of the bed without having to remove the tailgate pad or tonneau cover every time I need to switch duties. Whatever cover I go with it needs to be strong enough to stand up to potentially heavy snow fall here in Bend, OR.

Numerous friends with Tacos have warned me away from the roll up varieties of bed covers, but maybe they are over-reacting?

Thanks for any tips or suggestions, or even just to more specific pages in this thread where it's been discussed already. I'll keep digging through this thread in the meantime.

Diamondback with RockyMounts Droptop bolted on, add a tire tray for the rear if desired. No tailgate pad needed.

If I were going to do it again someone here had mounted the 1Up Van racks on his diamondback. That isn't that much more expensive than the droptop and tire tray and you don't have to remove the front wheel every time you put the bike up there. His was on a F150 though so not sure that setup will fit a short bed Taco. When my RM DriveShaft (previous version of the droptop) rust out, as everything on the coast that is steel does, I will probably do more research on the 1Up option.

Have you considered a Diamondback bed cover which would allow you to carry bikes on top of the cover?
