Well the cat is out of the bag.

We have a new KDMax-Pro tune---KDMax-Pro-9.0
As the Vftuner software has gotten updated, we were able to make updates to our tune to improve it.
We have tested it in our group and ready to release it. It is stronger and smoother, with improved drivability.
The update is free for all KDMax-Pro+XT users and we would like to get feedback on the public thread.
If you want your tuner to update you, there may be a fee for time/travel.
We appreciate all your support in the past and look forward to hearing from you in the future!

The KDMax-Pro-9.0 is an improved version of the KDMax-Pro+XT. We were able to find improvements with the recent upgrades in Vftuner.
- Throttle is smoother
- Shifting was adjusted to keep the truck in the power band and improve MPGs
- Torque maps were optimized to keep power throughout, especially on the low end
- Cruise Control was optimized for better shifting on the highway

I have been running the 9.0 tune and all I can say is how could they possibly have made it better?
Well it is better! More Refined!
I have a totally stock pickup with the TRD exhaust. The first thing I experienced was the smoothness of the shifting. The previous tune as well as the ones before that, the throttle from a dead stop was kinda jumpy, too jumpy.
Now I don't feel I have to feather the thottle anymore at take off.
The truck shifts like a Chevy now.
PERFECT!
Around town I can feel alot more low end torque throughout the power band. On the freeway at 65 mph the truck is just purring and cruises beautifully at 1.5 rpm.
When I stomp on the throttle the truck pulls hard and doesn't sound like it's working hard at all.
I can't say enough about KD MAX customer service and constant refinement of their tune.
I am totally satisfied with KD MAX.

The KDMAX-Pro-9.0 tune on heavy overland builds for manuals with 5.29 gears is super smooth and definitely improves MPG. Low-speed throttle is extremely controllable and smooth like silk. All around this is the best tune I have ever run on my truck and I have had a lot of different ones over the last five years!

Got back from about 400 mile trip to southern Utah... I must say.. wow...
I don't know how you keep making these maps better and better, but impressive!

I rarely had to shift on winding up and down country roads in 6th
Truck feels smoother and even quieter if that is possible.

I'm on 31' with about 2 1/2 lift.
I was getting 20-21 on my trip home. I think the trip meter said 20 for the full drive home when I stopped.

Been running the new tune for a little bit now, coming from pro+ XT. The tune is definitely smoother in the sense that it all feels refined, delivery and behavior feel OEM at this point, it's really nice! There's definitely more noticeable torque down low where you want it and the truck feels way more lock-step with what I want, when I want it. It holds the speed I want and when I want to overtake it don't need to mash the accelerator to get that power. Very happy with this new iteration @PapaRee

Oh, and I'm on E load skinny 33s, skid and sliders, 1.5" lift

 

Question about “preparing the ecu”. Do I still require an internet connection or does the registered OBDii plug now perform that function. Tks.

 

Yes, you need internet to Prepare ECU. This is where the server checks to see if your truck is registered.

Had an early meet with Don @DD619 in Kearney Mesa, SD. Updated his 2020 and flashed the new Pro-9.0. Don has a fairly heavy truck with some really nice mods like his newer Ikamper.
