    I usually let it warm long enough to move the needle, only bc my commute is 10 min of 3.5k powering up a pass. Same coming back down. I'll put the t-case in N and leave the transmission in gear, helps the shifts feel smoother.

    If warmups did anything or were necessary the owners manual would tell you to do so. There is nothing in my owners regarding warmups. Maybe in yours, I don’t know.

    "Warm-ups" often have the opposite of the intended consequence. You want all components warming up at the same speed together, but idling in the driveway just warms the engine and not the trans or diff(s). Hell, my old '85 911 specifically says in the owner's manual to not do any sort of warm-up as it is potentially damaging to the car.

    thats because its a high compression engine , the tacoma is a low compression

    If it’s below 0, I usually remote start it and let it warm up while I brush it off, grab the stuff I need, my jacket etc. gives it a while to get the gooop that fuel and ATF is in the negatives. In the summer? Start it, 10 seconds to plug my phone in, drive conservatively for 1-3 min, and she’s good.

    *OEM Mods: Intermittent wipers, Fogs, Keyless Entry, Lomax
    Internet search tends to indicate a 30 second warmup (15-30 usually cited) is all that’s needed to allow oil to flow well for vehicles that are fuel injected. The same is not true for carbureted engines which need a longer warmup.

    No sorry, any warm up longer than the time it takes to click on your seat belt and click off the parking brake will negatively impact fuel economy.
