Pens' PK is disgraceful. Blueger will probably make a difference, but will it be enough to matter?

not sure how the Canucks' 4th goal wasn't goaltender interference but I'll take it

I wish Anaheim would just trade Gibson somewhere. That guy is wasting his career there.

Canes have been inconsistent scoring wise and Freddie Anderson has had an open 5 hole far too often. Still a lot of talent on this team and I’m liking the play of this goalie Kochetkov.
Final Canes 7 Oilers 2. Svechnikov has his second hat trick against the Oilers this season, he owns them.

At some point when is it going to not be the goalie's fault and it fall on the team? Granted, I don't think Edmonton has ever had a top notch goalie but Campbells' numbers are way worse than any year in his career elsewhere. Edmonton always complains about the goalie. They play pick-up hockey because they have a guy who can go coast to coast, just the reality of it, in my opinion. Toronto is somewhat similar also.

Well, they haven't had a lot of luck. One shutdown defenceman walked to Seattle because he had bad personal memories here. One injured long term and maybe never coming back.

Oh I fully agree that the Oilers D is mighty mediocre. For a number of reasons (including what Cpl. P said ^^^). But if you watch many of the goals on Jack.....he's just got terrible positioning. He's not very engaged..
You could likely build some confidence in your D core, if you could stop the soft ones....and then....Jack might build some confidence if his D core could be stronger. The combination isn't great.. But like I said....I've seen many of the goals against. And LOTS of them are just plain weak..

I 100% agree with everything you say here. I do think sometimes when a goalie feels overwhelmed or uncomfortable, things can unravel. You start overthinking your reads not trusting the guys in front of you etc. And your play goes into the gutter. It can all go hand in hand. By no means am i excusing him from bad play. I just think maybe the environment or playstyle of that team is very taxing on a goalie.

Have the Pens righted the ship? Notice, Kapanen has sat the last two games, as did Joseph last night. Personally, I believe both being on the opening day roster was a mistake. I guess in an attempt to keep some young, potential talent, which the Pens have little of, Hextall committed to these two. They aren't the best choices for this year's roster. Signing Kapanen to a 3 year contract was a huge mistake and one I see the Pens eating soon.

I think they are on track. Hopefully tonight they keep it rolling.

And i think you are probably right about Kap. I always get sucked in to thinking hes going to come around. But he us so streaky, and off more than hes on. So you could be right, unfortunately. POJ, i am unsure how i feel about him. Some nights hes ok, others hes not very impressive. Petersson sure looked good. Desmith was solid.

Pretty sad turn of events when after the Canucks' go up 2-0 in a game , your first thought is "well they're gonna lose this one"

Avalanche put a whuppin’ on the Canes. Canes still not playing as a consistent team or as a contender yet.

What ended up happening with the jerseys that game? I saw in warm-ups that Van had road whites on but Boston had the RR on, which is also white lol. So who changed? NHL is so ridiculous. If you are going to make road unis white, then stop making specialty jerseys that are meant to be worn at home, white. Makes no sense.

^^Boston had to change BTW

Anyways, Pens game was annoying but I was pumped for Murray. Nice to see him play well in is return, especially in our house which I'm sure was added pressure.
