My check engine light is on. OBD2 says my knock sensor is off.
I've pulled the single knock sensor connector, and measure 0 volts to ground at the connector with the ignition on. I understand it should be ~ 5 volts.

Either the engine control module signal is bad or the wiring is bad.

I'd like to test the voltage of the knock sensor signal at the engine control module, but I can't figure which terminal to test.
I see 2 rows of about 37 terminals at the back of the ECM into which 4 multiplugs are inserted.

How can I find the right terminal to test?

You have a problem with critters chewing your wires or rust or flood victim truck? What makes you think it’s that? Not knowing the history I’d probably just try a new knock sensor but I’ve never seen one fail. Good luck.

    Smokestacks-

I don't know that critters damaged the wire, but I see that there is no voltage on the knock sensor connector.
I'd like to trace the wire back to the engine control module and replace the wire if the ECM output is 5 volts.

This is for a 99. Not sure if it’s the same.
