Some juice for a buddy’s wedding this weekend. Dad picked it up for me at retail courtesy of VA ABC

Thanks for that. I refuse to have a Facebook account. I am 2434 so it looks like package #16 which is the New Riff lineup:

    New Riff Bottled in Bond
    New Riff Single Barrel
    New Riff Single Barrel Rye
    New Riff Rye

Now the dilemma is whether to claim it or not. I'd have to go get it, and there's almost no way to do that which makes economic sense.

    After a few googles:

They'll get to donate it or whatever they do. Plane tickets are 1100 round trip.

Driving would be less than 500 gas, but 13+hr each way. My time is worth way more than 4 bottles of New Riff at that level.

I talked with them about that this morning.

1 - NC law may not allow it.
2 - Im not going to ask a charity to spend 1000+ on plane tickets to bring me ~200 of whiskey that is easily found on shelves.

I was talking to @Hook78 about it this morning, if you ship it to CA, I’ll turn around and ship it to you

Nice of you, but by "shipping" they mean "delivery", as in a raffle rep comes to you and verifies ID. I spoke with her this morning. She has stops to make un Atlanta, Florida, and California already.

They literally hand off the bottles in person after verifying who you are, no exceptions.

There really should be a cash value substitution option, this is silly. Some lady running around the country delivering bottles? Of New Riff? Nuts.

I say this gently, because it’s a solid charity. But still.

    Agreed.

I get it for the Pappy and BTAC, but for anything outside the top 5 or so...odd.

She mentioned in previous raffles they have allowed substitution of the travel voucher (500) in lieu of prize. She's checking if thats still allowed this year.

That, I would happily take. Either way, the New Riff is being re-donated back to them and will probably show up in next year's raffle.
