    :rofl:Yeah, I guess I missed that one.
You never know what is and isn’t serious in a thread like this one.

Since we’re on the subject, I guess I’ll answer.
If it is really cold (20 degrees F or lower). I usually drive it easy until the temperature gauge starts to climb. I used to let my previous vehicles warm up, but I’m getting older. My patience is shorter, and time is more value.

Don't quote me, as I think I heard on this Forum, that we have an electric heater to heat up the cab sooner.

Regardless, you certainly don't need long to warm up a vehicle in warm weather. You could drive away slowly and the temp. will climb quickly. In the winter, you could do the same, but you can hear the engine struggling a little more. Personally I wouldn't hop on a Highway right away without a bit of a warm up from driving it.

100% agree. My Tacoma starts at about 1200-1300 RPM's and will come down after 20-30 seconds. The Porsche starts at 1300 RPM and settles in at 700 after 30 seconds and the BMW is about the same. I agree with letting it "change pitch" before driving.

If you select defrost button, it uses elements to heat up the air and defrost your windshield.

Carbureted engines needed to warmed up for perforce reasons, very easy to stall one if too much load is given before the engine is warmed up. Also modern diesels need the be warm up from very cold starts, again for performance reasons. Don't think this holds up.

Depends on if you need warm air to defrost your windshield. Winters used to be so cold your breath would freeze on the inside before your defroster was warm enough to remove it.

Gonna have to disagree with this one. The fact that removing the oil filter drains out a bunch of oil proves that the oil filter is keeping oil up in the motor. That’s the whole point of the ADBV. And for whatever does drain out (in the bearings for instance), the mechanical oil pump sure does get it pumping quickly….but even if oil runs out of the bearings, it takes practically no time to pump more oil there if the passageways are filled with oil which they should be due to the ADBV.

You dont have to warm it up nearly as much as previously. The Tacoma uses Port injection when cold and that with i think retarding the timing a bit helps get the engine to temp faster. I still installed a remote starter and have my defroster set to max fan and temp to start defrosting the windshield before i get outside. The engine doesn't need warming up as much but in winter i still need to de-ice and clean the truck off often and letting things warm up helps that process along better regardless of what the engine needs.

I pee on the engine block to pre-warm it up before I press the starter button to normal-warm up...then while at idle, I depress the brake, shift from Park > Drive > Neutral > Reverse > Drive > Park > Neutral > Rev motor to 6.2k RPM redline and hold for 45 secs > while holding RPM at redline I drop it in Drive...
