    I did see that you added another post with a pic of your truck.. Thanks for that! But several others alluded to the truck not getting good gas mileage. It is all in how you drive it, if there are a lot of hills, etc. Also, the gas mileage gets better after about 10,000 miles or so, and the transmission settles down from its gear-searching, some. I myself, had a 1996 Tacoma 4-cyl that was getting 22 around town and 25-28 on the highway. So I was prepared for bad mileage when I bought my own 2019 TRD Sport 4-dr 6-cyl, 2wd. BUT, having said that, I am insanely happy with the mileage I am getting! I consistently get at LEAST 25mpg around town, and 28-30 on the highway! So I consider myself lucky that I finally made the decision to buy this truck, and I was pleasantly surprised with getting good gas mileage. I will attach a recent pic of my truck. Hey I can't help it, it looks great!TRD03062022b.jpg

    I moved from a 1999 Ford F*ing Ranger with 350K+ miles to the Sport. I am guessing I can get another 20+ years, I hear a Tacoma is tough. Oh the Ranger still had its air dam too.

    I've seen some of those older Rangers that are beat to hell take a licking and keep on ticking. Those were some tough SOB's for sure.

    Hybrid work model with only having to go to the office 3 days a week and able to work from home 2 days per week definitely influenced my decision with getting a truck.

    I’ve had my Sport almost 2 months now and getting 19.5 and can rationalize that my gas expense is about the same as my old Forrester commuting 5 day per week.

    Great point. It’s almost like some people here take pride in not driving their trucks. To hell with that, I’m going for the high mileage thread. I just don’t understand how people enjoy their vehicle when they never drive it.

    Do it. The only thing that matters is what you want.

    Nope, the truth. OK, I will attach ECO pics taken. By the way, I always check mileage when I fill up, against what the ECO says, and it is consistently the same, with maybe 1mpg variance occasionally. By the way, the dips in the fuel economy are when I either was going up a hill, or on the intown picture, when I had stopped at stop signs and was starting off again.trdgasmileagearoundtown05292020.jpg trdgasmileageeco04192020.jpg

    I'll second that!

    My job is 4 miles from my home, one-way.

    I get between 365-385 miles per tankful in my Sport--depends on my driving style and if I launch or accelerate with ease.

    @GarlicFarts

    My 17" wheels are heavier than the 16s" on the OR.

    Does the OR get better gas mileage?

    Wheel weight doesn't matter much. People have swapped stock size E loads on and the mpg hardly changes. That's my next task if and when, is stock size E loads

    The biggest hit to your mpg. The most significant, and noticeable, is tire diameters. Bigger tires sap the MPG due to the diameter more than the weight.

    @GarlicFarts

    Soooo,

    Would 265/70R17s make a significant difference from the 265/65R17s currently on my Sport?

    I think you're saying those substantially HUGE tires that I would not dream of putting on my Sport--requires too many mods (Lift/Re-gearing) and other factors that change the dynamics of these trucks (any truck).
